Wellness Tip - Is Drinking Coffee Good or Bad for your Health?

Drinking Coffee

Wellness Tip: Wellness Tip: For a long time coffee got a bad rap, reputed to cause heart disease, cancer, and shortened lifespans. Recent studies show coffee may actually provide health benefits: protection from Type-2 diabetes, liver disease, cancer, Parkinson's disease, decreased depression--even increased cognitive function. Not a bad benefit from your favorite java! There are caveats. Some people metabolize caffeine too slowly, and two or more cups daily may put them at increased risk for heart disease. (Check with your doctor.) Also, unfiltered espresso can elevate cholesterol levels.

So enjoy your cup o' joe, but do pass on the cream and sugar.

I understand cold brew is a concentrate, 1 part concentrate to 3 parts water. Is the caffeine still three times as strong after dilution?

If you haven't tried cold brewed coffee yet, it's mine blowing under the right conditions. Got to be careful with it as it takes several hours to drip cold and ends up about 3x more caffeinated, but its incredibly smooth, low acidic and supposed to be a lot better for your body. All I can say for sure is how I feel on the stuff is much better than regular coffee. Much more consistent energy without any jitters. Haven't tried making it at home yet, but it's on my list.
