The therapy requires injections as frequently as three times a week for up to seven months, as well as monthly shots for the next five years or more. Additionally, as with any vaccine, the risks of exposure to the actual pathogen can result in side effects or in this case, allergic reactions ranging from slight to severe. Chiropractic adjustments correct spinal abnormalities that result in interference of the nervous system by placing pressure on nerves. Since the nervous system controls all functions of the body, including the immune system, chiropractic care can have a positive effect on immune function.
