Lisa
Lisa Bahar is a licensed marriage and family therapist and licensed professional clinical counselor, having received her graduate degree from Pepperdine University in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in marriage and family therapy and her Baccalaureate in Cinema-Television Production from the University of Southern California. In addition, she is certified as a drug and alcohol addiction counselor with the California Certification Board of Alcohol & Drug Counselors.

Lisa is known as a DBT therapist and provides a comprehensive DBT Informed Skills Training groups which provide clients the "How" skills to deal with emotionally reactive behaviors, inability to express feelings and difficulties in managing stress and ability to self calm.

In addition, her use of Cinema-Therapy serves as a collaborative tool of using film stories as symbolic metaphors of problems and challenges clients may be facing.

Lisa maintains a private practice in Newport Beach and at Southern California Psychiatric Associates located in Dana Point. She works closely with a psychiatrist MD, Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to provide the most comprehensive therapy and treatment for mental health issues clients may be facing.

In addition to having her own private practice, Lisa is part of the Safe Harbor House Clinical Team with the Capella, Magellan and Knox programs where she provides individual therapy, DBT Skills Training and Cinema Therapy groups. She is one of Safe Harbor Houses primary therapists and preferred providers for their outpatient programs for those client transitioning in care.
