Treatment of chronic lyphedema of the legs by suction with low morbidity rate

A case of 20 years-old male patient complaining of severe swelling (chronic lymphedema ) of both legs is being presented. The patient had a big mass more than 10 cm in diameter since birth, increasing in the size gradually up to 30 cm when he visited our hospital because of interference in function and movement.
Results: He underwent multiple sessions of suctions of abnormal tissues by liposuction canula in few weeks apart. We measured the size of the lesion before each session and recorded the regression of the lesion with very low morbidity rate. The patients followed up for two years with no recurrence.
Conclusion: In this study, the importance of the suction in cases of lymphedema is highlighted.
