Losing Weight

When I meet new people in circles I notice alot of the female topic is mainly about weight loss and romance. I also noticed how it is tied into both leading concerns. I too go through the yo yo effects of dieting and lifestyle improvement toward weighing less. I have found that over the years, I become more accepting of myself. More knowledgeable about what is good and what is not so good for me. I test the waters of diet methods occasionally, and to my surprise I found overall I do lose weight when I stick to something. In life coaching, I relate this to my clients who find they have this yo yo effect on any topic. I explain, first we should find that which is truly important to us. Thereafter we need to discover WHY this is so important to us. Usually within that why question is a deeply compelling answer. Which leads to a first step. In my dieting discovery I realized that I am less concerned about what I weigh, but how pleasing I look to the opposite sex and how I appeal to myself. Like most women, we have a slew of "female" aides to conceal our imperfections. Men do not have nearly as many imperfection aides as we do. Funny thing about that is, men are less concerned about their weight. I also wondered how that is. I realize that when young boys are spoken to, words like you look so pretty and "isn't she pretty" do not come into play. We as women are conditioned to appeal to a princess like ideal. I won't be able to address so deeply into the American culture now, so I will revert back to diet. I feel like women will always have this issue. We will always be placed on an ever running tally of our outward appearance. We will often find fault in self. When speaking with clients on their topics of appearance and lack of discipline, I am completely at the stance of discovering what is really important to YOU. Not me or the man you love or the neighbor you envy or the actress on television. The very first step is to discover what you find important beyond the want. What motivates the desire to be or appear different? When we answer that question we begin realization that may assist us on how to get on with it all. Thereafter or in conjunction with a Medical doctor or dietitian you may find the support you need. I always recommend working with a Holistic Life Coach as well during the process, at least once a month. Passing a few ideals through a coach helps in the co creative process of losing weight and finding successful point of outcome.
