Sacred Lomi Lomi

Aloha everyone! After returning from the Sacred Lomi training in Williamsburg, I am excited to be sharing this ancient Polynesian massage. Lomi Lomi means "to rub or to massage" in Hawaiian and the style of Lomi that I now practice is Temple Style Sacred Lomi. This practice uses meditation, breath, and long embracing full body strokes to encourage release and relaxation. Some have described the strokes as ocean waves rolling over the body. The massage is performed directly on the massage table, using only towels for draping, so that work may be done below and above the body with an uninterrupted fluid, rhythmic style. Throughout the session, different parts of the body are massaged at the same time. The mind loses track of the hands and surrenders in relaxation, creating a deep sense of balance and peace. I am honored to share this "touch of Aloha" here on the Carolina coast...
