Dr. Thomas and Team were being considered my second opinion for a laryngectomy. One of the wisest choices I ever made was getting that second opinion at Dana Farber w Dr. Thomas. Especially, since I was told that my cancer was at a Stage 1-2 when in all actuality it was a Stage 4a based on our findings at the second opinion w Dana Farber and Dr Thomas. At this point, you want someone like Dr. Thomas on your case. Dr. Thomas was straight up with us the entire time, no fluff and right to the point about what his main goal was for me, not for him, and that was saving my life by offering the best solution for this stage of cancer while maintaining the best Quality of Life one can have based on the stage.

Dr. Thomas is not only brilliant he is the most compassionate physician I have ever encountered in my 35 years working in the medical field as a physical Therapist. His humility and dedication to service are exemplary and are second to none. His honesty and competency immediately facilitates peace of mind and provides the optimum environment for healing. His level of professionalism and kindness and dedication is truly a rarity.

My husband Steven is a 54 year old police officer who was diagnosed with a very advanced thyroid cancer last summer. We met with Dr. Thomas at Dana Faber, who ordered extensive testing to determine the extent of the cancer and then met with us to discuss his recommendations to remove it. He explained everything in detail and answered all of our questions. We never felt rushed at the initial appointment or any of the follow up appointments. He always assured us that we could contact the office with questions and when we did, his office staff got back to us in a timely manner with his answers. Dr. Thomas removed my husband’s entire thyroid gland as well as part of his trachea (windpipe) and esophagus (food tube) that the cancer had invaded. The surgery was very long and extensive in order to remove all of the cancer. After the surgery, my husband was in the hospital for 8 days. Over a 6 month period, he had radioactive iodine treatment as well as radiation. He has done remarkably well, his scans are clear and he has even returned to work. We thank Dr Thomas for doing such a great job. He is a kind and patient surgeon who looks at all the options before moving forward. We know he saved Steven’s life and feel blessed to have found him. We would highly recommend him.

Dr. Thomas is one of the finest Physicians I've had take care of me. Having been in the medical field for over 30 years, I've worked with many MD's around New England. Dr. Thomas has both the technical and personal skills you expect from your doctor. I would highly recommend him to friends and family and to anyone requiring his skills.

Dr. Thomas is not only a superb surgeon, but also a compassionate and considerate doctor. He listened to my concerns about the surgery that I was to undergo, telephoned me personally to discuss any questions I had and the surgery went extremely well. He truly cares for his patients and this has been apparent throughout the years that I have been under his care. I highly recommend him.
