Responding to JO in Mt Holly: Full disclosure I have known Debbie for a long time. With all of her perfect comments she continues to agonize over this one comment where she was at her wits end with the dog but more the owner. This Debbie Person, as she is referred to has an obligation to all the dogs in her care. A dog that has the ability to jump clear into the entrance room causes enormous havoc with other clients. Some dogs will go into uncharacteristic outburst when they see their owner leave for the first time. Does “not watch you leave” seem so evil? All the dogs behind the counter are well mannered and come from completely different homes and yet, Doggie Daycare (at Claws & Paws Inn) is calm and organized because she “The Debbie Person” happens to know what she is doing when she introduces dogs together for the first time. I am a pet owner and I want my dogs to have the best (and kindest) care. I and all the people that agree, and sometimes use the facility to capacity, are thankful for this clean, organized, friendly, knowledgeable staff, for our pets. I also appreciate the fact that my dogs get their own clean kennel to relax and sleep before their next day of fun and answering the phones. And another disclosure, I don’t get a penny discount from her. It is just a great place, and Debbie deserves the respect for her hard work that the rest of us manage to give her.

The response from my survey is right on so I will include here:

I've already told my friends and family about the fantastic experience I had there. Their staff is among the most friendly, welcoming staff I've ever dealt with. They are so warm and professional, and make the whole experience that much better. They made the extra effort to make sure every question and concern I had was addressed. They sure didn't make me feel rushed. They have a wonderful reputation in my community and are considered one of the best in the field. The waiting area here is extremely spacious. You never sit and wait because someone is ready to attend to you. You can sit in your car when you are driving out. There is never overcrowding and everything is spaced appropriately.

For one year my Honey has been a guest of the Claws and Paws Inn. Our stays are generally every week for 3 to 4 nights. With a staff to guest ratio of 1:15, I know my baby is going to be given attention and care worthy of my darling! This facility is an enclosed all inclusive care facility. Knowing my boo is sheltered from rain, searing heat, and snow gives me great comfort. During one stay, Honey experienced severe diarrhea, she was escorted to Dr. White's office which on site. For the duration of her stay the staff administered medication as needed and gave boo extra attention as she was feeling under the weather.

The staff of this Inn is truly exceptional in their vigilance of safety and security of the facility. During the local snow storm, which shut down our town for 4 days, the Manager, Debbie, stayed next door at the Holiday Inn Express, and provided continual care to all cats and dogs that were not able to be collected by their masters. My Honey was one of those on site and given awesome care by Debbie.

Claws and Paws Inn is THE BEST facility for your baby.

So enjoy taking my dogs to Claws and Paws in Belmont NC, where the staff is more than kind and willing to work with you and your pets needs.I have been going to Claws and Paws for a number of years and find EVERY staff member to be more than loving towards my animal. I have never had a complaint, issue or problem. I totally trust that when my "babies" go there that there will be no issues and my animals will be VERY happy and well cared for. Thanks again Claws and Paws for doing such a wonderful job!

Dr. White and his office staff have been very friendly and great with animals in my past experiences with them... But I am here for Claws and Paws, their dog daycare and grooming facility. I wouldn't reccomend this place for anyone. Claws and Paws don't crate, they just stick your babies in a kennel reminiscent of a kill shelter. I asked for a tour of the facility and I was treated as if it were an unusual request... then instead of showing me what goes on behind the door beyond the counter, she and I walked around back and I was only shown the kennels where the'aggressive' and non-neutered dogs are kept. It was shocking and I was very concerned that they would lock my baby in there. I was assured that this was only for the safety of the other more friendlier animals and that mine wouldn't be in there. Second day I dropped her off there as I was pulling away and in my rear view mirror I see an assistant walking my dog to the back where the kennels are. I called and this Debby person told me it was 'policy' that dogs should be introduced to the others through the kennel. Utter crap, that is NOT what they did the day before. She lied to me twice that morning and I spent the ENTIRE day at work worrying about my dog and belive me if I didn't HAVE to work I would have taken her from there immediately. This Debby Cozzie person is rude and has no idea how to conduct herself in a professional business manner. She literally told me to accost (take her down - as in tackle - to the floor) my dog for jumping and scorned me for not 'training' her, even though she is a very well behaved and very obediant dog. I told them the first day I dropped her off that they shouldn't let her watch me leave. I was told that it was thier policy and they made her stand there and watch me go. From that moment on she wanted to jump the counter... and it was made out to be my fault that she jumped THEIR counter. She doesn't jump counters at home! Neededless to say, I took her to the other place in Belmont.. the one that didn't have a problem taking me on a full tour, the one that doesn't have a kennel, the place that is so wonderful you literally have to schedule daycare now because they are the best place around for the money... you know, the one where everyone there is pleasant and are really true animal lovers. Take THAT down to the ground, Debbie.
