I have inherited my Mother In Laws dog. When she was first using Dr. Nygard she had not yet opened Hilltop and made a number of house calls. I have been taken Sammi to her for all wellness visits and any other concerns or problems. She makes you feel like you are still in your own house. My Mother-In Law passed at 97 this past November. I have just scheduled her annual wellness visit. I am sure she would be thrilled to know that her dog is getting the same great care that she wanted for her pet.

This rating is a little misleading; it is an attempt to balance two aspects of the practice.

The vet is very good. She is caring, compassionate, and very straight forward. She is very good with follow up phone calls whether she is the initiator or not. I would highly recommend her. Her rating would be four or five stars. My only dislike is that she doesn't take emergencies. The practice is more like that of a physician's assistant; she has all the skills but doesn't go that next step.

The male receptionist is another matter. Ill-mannered, rude, totally devoid of professional or customer service skills describe him; if he has any educational credentials he would serve his alma mater well in not telling people what it is. In person or on the phone he is very condescending and poorly able to hide his prejudice towards present or potential customers. His would be less than one were it possible.

At this point, I will stay with the practice because of the vet. If I feel that I must leave, it will be due to the fact that his insults and humiliations toward me or others in the waiting room have worn me down.

The years of experience caring for pets is obvious. I have brought in animals that were suffering from gallbladder problems and with very little expense to me she was able to prescribe the necessary meds and ancillary treatment and was able to tell me almost immediately if it had become more serious. When this particular dog was taken to the hospital for gallbladder removal they told me she only had a mucocele and then they had to operate because her condition continued to decline (and they had access to thousands of my dollars, the latest technology etc,).

Additionally, Dr. Nygard has treated all of my other, now mostly senior, animals with the same concern, courtesy and consideration. She has allowed me great latitude in bringing in animals that needed to be PTS and has never charged additional fees as so many do today. She has made sure I am always aware of my choices concerning meds, costs, treatments etc..and we will continue to use her services as long as she will allow us to.

There is no comparison!

Definitely! I saw it as soon as I walked in!
Does this veterinarian offer emergency after-hour services?
Yes, they are so amazing. They will come to the office after-hours for any emergency

Without a doubt!

Absolutely, even the bathrooms are handicap-accessible

I was horrified at how badly they treat their potential customers. I have never been spoken to so rudely ,by anyone that wanted my business. And don't even think about questioning them about anything. Barry at the front desk is extremely aggressive. , I thought he was going to hit me when I disagreed with him about how others take care of their pets. I was only trying to explain that some people do not deserve to have pets and he completely flew off his handle. I feel that his is unstable and should not be working with the general public. I also had the unfortunate pleasure of hearing them speak to other customers on the phone, so I know it was not jut myself that they spoke to so rudely. Check out some other sites as well. i found two other sites that talk about their rudeness and don't even mention their pet care. I find that odd, but perhaps they walked out, just like myself. Again, in my opinion, they both need professional consulting and should not resume pet care until doing so.

Yes, but they took full blame and discovered the real problem shortly after

I was extremely satisfied with how smoothly my pet's appointment went and how helpful the vet was. It really went well. One thing I loved about this vet was that they definitely care about the pet and the pet owner. My pet is so spoiled every time we come here. They are always so attentive to pets. There is food and water available if needed. I am always seen almost as soon as I walked in the door (unless there is an emergency). I didn't have to reorganize my day around my appointment at all. I love that they are always more than happy to answer my questions, and actually welcome questions. I've felt awkward at some other places I've visited when I've tried to ask a lot of questions, but not here.

Yes! They were the most knowledgeable staff I've ever seen!
Was this veterinarian able to perform all basic as well as complicated procedures?
Absolutely! They handle everything from annual shots to complicated illnesses, with competence and loving care

Absolutely! I can always count on them
