Gwynne Gilson is a well-trained, ethical, discerning and balanced provider of psychotherapy. As the reviewe rbelow notes, court cases involving a high degree of conflict between parents regarding the custody of their children are painful for all involved. Sometimes, judges order the child or children to receive individual therapy in order to support them with the experience of being in the middle of this conflict. When I am providing individual therapy for a child in such a situation, my role is to focus on the emotional health of the child. At times, I help the child speak for him or herself about his or her feelings and preferences about the process. All decisions, however, are up to the judge presiding over the case. Unfortunately, it is often the case that one parent or the other is unhappy with the judge's decisions. I understand how challenging and painful it is for parents to have a third party make decisions about when and how they can see their child. If I am working as a family therapist, rather than an individual child therapist, these feelings can be addressed within the context of therapy. As an individual therapist, however, my therapeutic focus remains with the child. I am dedicated to providing professional, ethical, high-quality services to all of my clients. Gwynne Gilson is as reckless, unethical, ineffective, sloppy, biased, and unprofessional as they come. I was shocked and disgusted by the amount of damage she did to my child during her so called “treatment” as well as her unwillingness to communicate effectively and positively with myself and others involved in my family law matter. I would not recommend Gwynne to my worst enemy but would encourage anyone who has had a similar experience with her to file a complaint with the proper authorities so she cannot continue to do further damage to innocent children and families in difficult litigation scenarios.
