I had vein surgery here and I am worse than before so maybe vein surgery is not the answer for everyone

Dirty hospital, rude nurses, never gave my mom a bath/shower in her week 1/2 stay.. She got an infection there after her chemo and passed away from infection.

I recently had out-patient surgery at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MA.
The majority of people that I came into contact with on that day were pleasant and helpful...some could have used a refresher course in "Personality 101".
The doctor who was doing my procedure showed up and to my dismay, was coughing up a storm.
I asked him if he had a cold and he replied that he did ...but was on med's for it.
He put on a mask but continued coughing through the entire procedure.
It was not a quiet dry little cough...it was one of those wet sounding coughs that one gets with a bad case of the flu or a very bad cold.
As a "doctor" (??), it seems to me that someone like that should know better (?) than to come to work with a very bad cold that they could indeed pass on to others.
Hospitals are for sick people....not people who WANT to get sick.

Rude. Indifferent. Grossly overcharge for the poor service they provide. Go anywhere else if you possible can.

No one on the emergency room staff helped me with my problem. They didn't ask me questions to understand my problem and were not attentive to me during most of my stay in the ER and by the time someone did I was already having new medical issues that they didn't understand how to treat properly. As a result, I was abused physical & sexually, and treated very badly by one ER nurse in particular. I would not recommend anyone going to Mercy's ER unless you have a very well known illness and you have the luck of not getting this nurse. She has treated me badly everytime I have gone to Mercy and have complained the the doctors before about her, but the abuse this past time went way beyond just verbal. No patient should have to tolerate verbal abuse from any nurse, let alone physical and/or sexual abuse especially when a patient is unable to respond. Then on top of that, the incorrect treatment was given to me because they didn't understand or take the time to understand my medical condition. As a result, I was force to advocate and stand up for myself which at that point all of my treatment was discontinued and was forced to leave in the condition I was in and told never to come back to Mercy Hospital ever! My parents when they arrived to take home were also told that if I was ever brought here for treatment, I would be refused!
I am not a drug addict, drug seeker, alcoholic, bum, prostitute, or anything else but a hard-working self-employed business owner with several complicated medical issues. I went to Mercy Hospital that night because my doctor sent me there and not because I wanted to go there. I have better things to do like rest at home where I am much more comfortable than waiting hours in an ER waiting room only to be treated very badly and abused. I am very disappointed with the Mercy ER and still emotionally upset over the whole incident. I have no idea where the care and compassion is that they claim to have over other hospitals. To me Mercy is just another inner city hospital that treats their patients like drug addicts, drug seekers, and hypochondriacts..

Complete apathy and a lack of compassion throughout the entire staff in the Mercy er waiting room.Over 6 hours with a son having a reaction to medication along with acute withdrawals .Not one single reassuring smile or kind word even. for any patient .We left with no treatment as did others including a woman with an infant son who had waited over 8 hours.

They paid close attention to my father in law and all questions were answered. Their staff is the most friendly, welcoming staff I've ever dealt with. They are so warm and professional, and made the whole experience that much better. I was very satisfied with the visit. Great great staff!
