I went wholeheartedly into this evaluation exposing everything because I had nothing to hide. She lied about the condition of my house. It has been remodeled and she said it was "darn near uninhabitable." Her attitude towards me was horrible. I had been going through the children's clothes since it was before school was starting and had them in piles of what was too small and she wrote that I had clothes thrown everywhere. Completely unprofessional. I thought they were supposed to be unbiased but I could tell by the report that was not true. Completely unprofessional and lied about so much. Destroyed the lives of my children and put me on a complete spin. Unethical is being polite. Horrible. They should be ashamed of themselves. I can't imagine how many families they have torn apart.

Five Star Family Studies is actually one person named C Ava Marshall who conducts all of the "evaluations". There are 15 reviews of her on this site under her name. They are all very negative. If you can't find the reviews, you may need to enter her name in your search engine. In my experience, a Delaware County Court judge ordered an evaluation with C Ava Marshall. Upon arriving at my home she very angrily accused me of lying to her saying that I gave her the wrong address, which I did not. She got lost. After that her obvious anger did not let up and everything continued downhill. She was very abrassive during the home visit. She made odd comments about features in my house that were not at all as she stated. The icing on the cake was when she looked at my vacuum cleaner and said "WHY DO YOU HAVE A LAWN MOWER IN THE HOUSE". No joke, she actually said that. I am not a psychologist, but I don't believe you need to be one to see that she is delusional and has lost her grip on reality. I had a pit in my stomach during and after the visit realizing that the future of my child lay in the hands of this woman. When she issued her report, I was shocked in reading it to see that it was filled with outright fabrications about everything from the condition of my house to an interaction between me and my child that did not happen. She even made a judgment about my financial condition, with no basis. I watched everything carefully and she only got up from the chair twice during the entire visit. She also stated that she made 16 pages of notes during the home visit. I saw with my own eyes that she made notes on the top page, and flipped it once to write a few sentences on the second. Not even close to the 16 pages claimed in her report. Everything was complete fabrication, embellishment, and downright lies. I can only wonder from her behavior that this report was an amalgam of her memories of other evaluations that she had done. Because the report had very little to do with what actually happened in mine. If you are about to go to court on a custody matter, I strongly advise you to prepare your attorney to be ready to fight and object in any way so that C Ava Marshall is not to do your evaluation. If so, it is probably not going to turn out well. C Ava Marshall from my observations is a very angry, bitter old woman who has no qualms taking out her own issues on you in an evaluation. Very unprofessional and disingenuous.
