Our father has been at Rexburg Care & Rehab several times. The last time he was so sick we did not feel like he would ever go home. The staff were so caring and concerned. Our mother was able to stay with him throughout the day and the staff made sure she was informed about his care. After 3 weeks he was able to return home. We are so greatful there is a place close by that family can go visit and get stronger after spending time in the hospital. We have been so pleased we have suggested this facility to our neighbors and friends.

My mother went through knee surgery on both of her knees. The first time she went straight home from the hospital and received home health for her therapy. When she had her second knee done, the surgeon talked to the family and suggested she go to Rexburg Care & Rehab for her therapy. After staying just about 2 weeks, because that is all her insurance would cover, she went home. My mother still suffers from discomfort in the knee from the first surgery where she receive just home health but the other knee from the second surgery has never given her any trouble. We were so please with the care she received that when she had her stroke and the doctor at EIRMC suggested she receive some rehab we did not hesitate to have her placed at Rexburg Care & Rehab again. The stroke affected her speech but the Therapist were so good. We feel that she is able to talk today because of them. The nursing staff were so wonderful, kind and caring. Our mother says the meals were better than the hospital food. We are grateful for the care she received. We would recommend this facility for rehab.

My mother was here for almost 6 years. No other choice close enough to visit. They put on a good show of caring and I think that some of them did. I would say that most of the salaried employees, nurses, those in charge don't. They listen as if they care but then continue to do exactly as they did before. I started keeping track of the hygiene care my mother received. I had complained that my mother's teeth needed cleaned everyday and her face washed. They promised it was being done and marked it on the charts that way. But I also came everyday and took pictures of the position of the toothbrush and washcloth and neither had been moved for over a month. They tried to argue with me but I had the truth. They did a little better for the next couple of months but then it tapered off again as soon as they didn't see me everyday. My mother had to sleep in the same clothes she wore all day because they wouldn't take the time to change her. I realize that at times my mom was difficult but they only had to call me and I would have taken care of the problem.The food that they were served was very unpleasant. My mother was put in a wheelchair all day long and just left to set at the nurse"s station. Not much to look at day after day. I pleaded with them to take her outside or at least let her look out a window where she could see some color but once again it didn't happen. Her lips were constantly cracked and sometimes bleeding but they did little to help. I have little good to say about this nursing home. I cried at the care my mother received but it was either keep her there or put her somewhere that I would not be able to visit for weeks at a time. I felt she needed my contact. Having a high level of customer service doesn't appear to be their top priority. I will never put another relative or myself anywhere near this place. It was a nightmare. I had to check on everything or not much was done. Very bad taste in my mouth.
