This veterinarian was friendly to both me and my pet, which I thought was nice. They were very kind and welcoming. They almost always have a promotion or special going on. Whether its a complimentary consultation for new clients or a percent-off a certain service, I always get some sort of discount. They always made sure that I wasn't in any pain. They had some of the best pricing I have ever seen. It even seemed to be a little under what other veterinarians in the area charge, so needless to say I was pleasantly surprised. The waiting room here is spacious. I never feel like I have to sit too close to someone or that it is overcrowded.

When our cat, Lola, got sick, we couldn’t afford to bring her to an expensive vet, so we settled on Mercy Animal Medical Center because our family members recommended it. Apparently, they are now under new management because the service we received was not what we were led to believe. When we brought our cat in to the center, we let Dr. Kamal know that we were low on cash and wouldn’t be able to afford over a certain amount of money. He reassured us that it would not be a problem as long as we left a $100 deposit and would pay the rest when they were done with the procedures. We paid the $100 as we left the clinic and he said he would call us around 6:00 p.m. to let us know how she was doing. At about 7:30 p.m. I got a phone call from his secretary saying that our cat had recovered and was ready to come home; I sped down to the clinic right away. When I got there Dr. Kamal brought me to her kennel. She was still hooked up to the IV but was lying on the cold, metal kennel floor; she had no blankets or towels to keep her warm. I was upset seeing my cat being treated this way, but I figured I was taking her home now anyways so she’d be more comfortable soon. He informed me that she was doing a lot better but wasn’t quite ready to come home yet. I thought it was very odd that he said that because the phone call I received told me she was ready to come home. Before I could ask anything, he directed me to the front desk to talk to his secretary. I thought she would set me up with an appointment in the morning to check up on how my pet was doing, but I was mistaken. She demanded the rest of the payment, which would’ve been fine if I knew in advance, but my boyfriend, who had the money, was at work and couldn’t come down to pay. He tried telling her that he was at work at the moment and the reason why we couldn’t pay right then was he couldn’t leave work to do the transaction. She continued to push the issue that we needed to pay the remaining balance or our cat would be sent home. After hearing this, my boyfriend gave her his card information to make an over-the-phone transaction. She processed the transaction but we were short $45 out of the $300 we already paid. Because we were unable to pay the full amount, Dr. Kamal sent our cat home and told us to come back in the morning when we had the rest of the money. Sadly, Lola died about an hour after she came home; she was only 18 months old. After we buried her the next morning, we went back to Mercy Animal Medical Center and informed them of our loss. Dr. Kamal told us that we no longer had to pay the remaining balance of $45 that was so important the night before. They seemed very unsympathetic to the situation and, as we were leaving, offered us a free replacement cat. After this tragic incident I would highly advise you NOT to go to this clinic. It may be inexpensive but is it really worth your pet’s life?
