My Mother passed away here several years ago now. Staff was wonderful. It was peaceful, and even though my mother didn't make it there until she was pretty much unconscious, I'm very appreciative of the wonderful staff and the fact that Southern Illinois has a place like this. There was a long waiting list for Mom to get in at the time as this facility was just getting started, and Mom was too sick for most nursing homes, and the hospital had exhausted all of the funding for her DRG, Finding her a place to go was difficult. No one could tell us if her insurance and medicare were going to cover the cost until we got there. This was frustrating and the only reason I gave it a 4.5 rather than a 5. Luckily most of the expenses were covered as my father was a retired IDOT employee. Wonderful caring staff that go the extra mile to make the customer's experience as pleasant as it can be.

Staff was friendly and inviting. I appreciated the security features of the building for my mom. The facility and grounds are beatiful, relaxing, and calming. Patient rooms feel like apartment rather than a "medical facility". I definitely recommend this facility and will move my mom there once the need arises.
