My mother was here twice. The first time, the excellent physical therapists gave her two more years at home, after the hospital in which she was admitted for "observation", St. Elizabeth's, ruined her.

Two years later, she needed nursing home care. She received excellent care there, and the communication between the staff and me was never wanting. My mother also loved the food! My mother, unfortunately, was a difficult patient, but the staff were there for her, doing their best from beginning to end. She died going on five years ago, but I shall always be grateful to the staff at Wingate. The administration could have been better, and there were the occasional laundry mishaps which happen anywhere, but the social worker, and the day-to-day "hands on" personnel -- the aids, nurses, the doctor -- could not have been better!

Mom Left after 2 days. tThe staff does not seem to think that feces on comode and toilet seats hand bars walls is a issue nor the Head nurse. The place was flooded this past week . there are rug dryer machines. pulling up dust/ mold the place smells. The comode and bathroom comode are rusted where the patient is suppose to sit ( I have all these pictues!) Again the staff does not seem to understand or care the importance of cleaniness sterile enviroment preventing infection. never go hear! Talking to fellow persons with parent spouse here this is a very familiar scenerio!

Please keep your love ones away from this place...My father stayed here for rehab. I stayed and visited every day for at least 10 hours each day. it was supposed to be for 6 weeks but ended up being 8 days. may dads room had fecal matter on the furniture from previous client and a toilet hand railing device that was old corroded and covered with some kind of brown scale. Seemed like when I complained to the head nurse it was an inconvenience for them to address and made me feel out of line. His assigned doctor was totally inept. they kept pushing blood pressure pills ( my dad normally has low blood pressure and does not need this. They took his readings when my dad was agitated (Alzheimer's) So the addition of this medicine pushed his press.level to around 60 way too low . I had to keep demanding they stop giving this med. On the 7 th day Doctor visited it was friday afternoon. Mentioned I was worried about my dad;s excessive diarrhea with its strange colors. Doctor told me it was nothing to worry about. Seemed he was more interested in taking the week end off for golf. The next Sunday I arrived to visit my dad around 8am his door was closed and the TV in his room was excessively loud I guess the night staff was tired of hearing his moaning thru the night. His bed was totally soiled with an iridescent colored no 2.. I had to beg the nursing staff that something was wrong and he needed to go to the hospital. finally they agreed. turned out he had C Diff and stayed in the hospital for about 10 days. We went to a different rehab after that.

Do Not Let Anyone You Care About Enter This Facility!!

Abusive staff. Rancid Food. Therapy billed for but not received. It looks decent enough at a glance, but this is just window dressing. Patient complaints are brushed off as the fabrications of the truth, blamed as mentally ill. Phones are unplugged periodically to limit communication with family and to prevent patients calling for help to report abuse.

At this time the facility is under investigation for patient abuse. Lawsuits pending.
