Fantastic experience! When I first entered PHP, I thought I was going to be in an environment like jail. This was not the case. Every day I woke up, I felt better and better. This was mostly due to my excellent counselor, and the education groups, which taught me what alcoholism is, and is not. This experience changed my life, and the other guys I met, were the best. I could not have asked for a better experience, and everyone treated me with respect.

Possibly the most positive experience of my life, hands down!
Entering the PHP program I was very reluctant and scared, expecting the worst. From the time I arrived to the time I left I felt like a new person. Thanks to having a great group of guys, a wonderful counseling staff as well as house managers.
The house is nothing special, but quite adequate. Meals are so-so, there is no Chef doing the cooking for you, but you are provided with meals. You have daily chores as can be expected with having a house full of guys (there were 11 there when I arrived). I had a great group of guys with much in common. Great to work with and talk to, many I have remained in contact through my recovery. They have been a great sober support system for me and I look forward to spending the rest of my life in contact with many of them. We all looked out after one another and developed a positive atmosphere conducive to recovery.
The counseling staff is fantastic. They are very knowledgeable and supportive. 3 hour group meeting are held each evening as well as on the weekends. Topics include: daily check ins, identification of alcoholism and addiction as a disease, art therapy, fun with recovery, and the family in recovery. In my 45 days in the program I was able to have all of the counseling staff for evening group meetings as well as personal 1 on 1 meetings. I have the utmost respect for the job they do. They do what they do because they love it and want you to succeed. I look forward to remaining in contact with and love all of them.
Each of the house managers is different in their own way, but all are willing to talk and help you in any way they possibly can. They will prepare meals for you; take you to meetings, including groups, AA and NA, shopping on Saturdays, and to the Laundromat. They make sure you do your chores, make your sponsor calls and hold regular house meetings and roasts for those leaving the recovery program. They are a caring group of guys who are all recovering addicts and alcoholics that are a wealth of knowledge in the field of recovery, many of which I am still in contact with and are part of my sober support system.
As I mentioned in the beginning if you are ready for recovery and keep a positive attitude this is a fantastic program that I have no reservations recommending to anyone that is ready to heal from the effects of drug and alcohol abuse.

If you got a DUI, don't think you have a problem, don't want to take an honest look at your drinking, and just want to get through your legal problems, then New Insights isn't the place for you. If you want treatment for drug or alcohol addiction then there is no better place to go. The counselors are companionate yet hold you accountable for doing the needed work to recover. From what I saw those who complained about treatment relapsed during or right after their treatment. There was a good group of guys that went through treatment with me and were serious about treatment. I have stayed in touch with them and they are doing good. I hope I don't ever need to go back to drug and alcohol treatment but if I do, New Insights is the first place I will call.

I can to New Insights after getting my first DUI. I really didn't want to go through the mandatory drug and alcohol evaluation. I was recommended to do some outpatient counseling. I have to admit at first I was angry but now I am glad I did it. I recognized I had a problem during my counseling and I am glad I followed through with the counseling I needed. My counselor was very personable and easy to talk to. This was a good investment in my future.

I was desperately seeking help for my son with a heroin addiction. I had called several rehabs and no one was able to help. They all said unless he was in withdrawal or wanted to kill himself, they would not be able to treat him because his insurance wouldn't cover it. The office staff and billing department of New Insights were so helpful and we were able to get my son into New Insight's Partial Hospitalization Program that day. He received 30 days of treatment while residing near the office in their PHP houses. They have a great program and we gained so much from Sunday's Family Group. I can't say enough as to how helpful they were.

I have to thank New Insights for saving my life. I was very sick and in withdrawal when I called for help. They were able to see me almost immediately and Dr Davis kept me very comfortable while I was being detoxed. I went through the partial hospitalization program and I believe all of the clinical staff are knowledgeable and companionate. I have been through 3 other rehabs in the past and New Insights is by far the best program I have been through. I learned so much about myself and the disease of addiction, which I was never exposed to in any of the other programs I went through. I never felt like just a number when I was at New Insights, but I felt that way every where else I was at. I just celebrated my 6 month sobriety anniversary. I can't thank them enough.

The office staff and general organization is unprofessional at best and unethical at worst. The place is dirty. UA samples are handled anywhere and everywhere. The walls and doors have dirty black marks everywhere. The office staff can be heard calling the clients derogatory names. The turn over rate for counselors is very high, so you will most likely get bounced around from counselor to counselor during your treatment.
