Dr. Portney- excellent surgeon/ knowledgeable/professional/friendly. Had cataract surgery on both eyes- went great- can not thank him
enough for his skill. I have recommended him to others.
I also saw Dr. Sigal for a follow up appointment- he was great !

All the time! the waiting rooms are always packed and It seems as if they are more concerned about quantity over quality

Dr. Portnoy was wonderful. His staff, on the other hand, was not that friendly, and didn't go out of their way to make us feel welcome. They refused to allow us to select frames and get my daughter fitted for contacts because they were running behind and had stayed after their normal hours. Everyone wants to go home at quitting time, but if you are going to offer evening hours, you need to offer all of your services during those hours and not force people to make additional trips to select glasses and try a pair of contacts. Our appointment was for 6:00 and we did not see the doctor until 7:00. Why is it our fault that he was running behind? My daughter already wears contacts and simply needs a new prescription, but it was like pulling teeth when I called to request the prescriptions be sent to me so I can purchase them elsewhere. the staff member just kept telling me they rushed me out the door because they were already past their regular hours.
I hope Dr. Portnoy's staff reads this review!

Their staff was not that friendly, and didn't go out of their way to make me feel welcome. I felt like my needs were mostly met, I left a message for a manager to call me and that didn't happen. The person I originally talk to who was made it sound like how dear I call to inquire after 2 weeks about my glasses. She left a message on my home phone my glasses are in the service lab they will call me when they're in. No kidding, Pick up the phone and call them and see what's taking so long. My original glasses came in over 2 weeks ago but the frames where scratched up. They only have to change the frames not make the lenses how can that take over 2 weeks when they made the originals with the prescription lens in 4 days. I can't believe they can't call them and say ( how can changing the frames take so long maybe we need to send our business somewhere else) I will.

They paid close attention to me and all of my questions were answered. Their staff was not that friendly, and didn't go out of their way to make me feel welcome. They didn't help me as much as I was hoping and didn't answer all my questions. I bought glassed the day I was there so I can see properly. My glasses came in and the frames where all scratched up. It’s been 2 more weeks and I called about my glasses. I was told they have no Idea when they would be in. I asked if they can call someone and I was told no they will call me when there in. I ordered glasses because I need them not for fun. The company you deal with to make these glasses need to be accountable to you. If I would have known this I would have kept the scratched glasses till the new ones came in than I'm sure the replacements would have been quick. My husband and my glasses where paid for the day of our visit no one waited 3 weeks. I know the reason I’m truly upset is instead of being told we will check on them to see when they might be resent, that would have been understandable but when I’m was told there’s no way to find out and I just have to wait till you call me is unacceptable. I bring my mother to you and my husband and I have been coming to you for years but I will think twice the next time. I also plan to share my experience with co workers, facebook, twitter and anyone else that will listen.
If these associates don’t like what they are doing they should find other work because they reflect your whole practice and they should realize that. I asked for a supervisor to call me back and I will wait and see if that happens.
