Dr. Liao is by far the best dentist I have ever been to. He is exceedingly knowledgeable and takes a whole health approach. He takes a great amount of care to ensure comfort and explains everything to his patients in great detail. He and his assistant work together flawlessly and go the extra mile and then some to make sure the patient is truly comfortable-step by step.I truly trust Dr. Liao -his integrity and real desire to help the patient cannot be overstated. I have never felt more cared for at a dentist office in my life and I hope he never leaves the area. I highly recommend Dr. Liao to everyone-from every age group. Simply put-he is exceptional and his staff - especially his assistant are amazing.

We came to Dr. Liao seeking a 2nd opinion for our 22 month old daughter, Mia. She had some plaque like discoloration that was only affecting her 4 upper, front teeth. She also has an upper lip tie that we wanted checked out. The dentist we visited before was a pediatric practice in Fredricksburg. It was a nightmare and left me feeling pretty defeated and walked on. Fast forward to our 2nd opinion visit with Dr. Liao and it was a complete 360. The waiting room was nice and the front desk lady was very friendly and seemed genuinely happy to be there. When the dental assistant opened the door to call Mia back she didn't just stand there like we've experienced with other assistants. She actually came out, got down to Mia's level and talked to her! It really made a difference that right off the bat the staff here were welcoming Mia with kindness and trying to earn her trust. We went to the back room. They allowed me to sit in the chair and hold her in my lap. Dr. Liao came in and was just wonderful from beginning to end. He did not force his way into my child's mouth via a metal clamp like the first dentist did. Instead he respectfully sat and talked with us and interacted with Mia so she was more comfortable in his presence. I held her upper lip while he examined her front teeth and lip tie. He said the tie was no issue now and could be fixed around 5 or 6 years of age. He also said her teeth were not of concern. I told him the previous dentist stated her teeth were in an active state of decay and needed immediate drilling and capping. Dr. Liao took the metal hook they use to examine your teeth. Mia began to cry once she saw the hook. Dr. Liao gently showed her on my thumb nail first, and then her thumb nail what he was going to do and then I held her lip while he examined her teeth with the metal hook. He once again told us her teeth were of no concern. He said if cavities were on a letter scale with A being no cavities and Z being an abcess, that Mia's teeth were an A- or B at the most. He asked questions about her diet, and my pregnancy and delivery with her. He was so polite and answered all of my questions and never once made me feel ignorant. I asked him if your diet during pregnancy can affect your child's baby teeth since those develop during the 4th month of pregnancy. He said that was true and I embarrassingly admitted to my poor diet during pregnancy and how her teeth had always seemed to have that strip of discoloration. I told him about how we now for almost a year have been following a paleo/primal approach to eating (shares similarities with the Weston A. Price diet that he recommends). Dr. Liao said we are doing great with our nutrition now and to keep going. I brush Mia's teeth in the morning and before bed and he recommended to also use small gauze wipes soaked in an equal parts mixture of peroxide and water to wipe her teeth and lip tie area down if she ate something sticky since her lip tie could cause food/plaque to become trapped. He also recommended for me to read "baby led weaning" and "cure tooth decay". He also recommended for myself or another family member to make an appointment so Mia could watch and then she could come back in about 6 months for another exam. What I also loved about him was that I told him Mia was still nursing on demand. He didn't bat an eye at that and was more focused on keeping her mouth clean of other foods and following a good diet. I was so relieved because the previous dentist had attacked me for this. Leaving the office the staff was just as friendly and one of the desk receptionists gave Mia a couple of little rubber bracelets for being a good patient. I am so thankful that I found Dr. Liao and his staff. It was out of network so we did have to pay up front but we have out of network coverage with our insurance and will be reimbursed for some of it but it was worth every bit. Finding a provider and staff that was respectful of myself and my small daughter is priceless. I would highly recommend Dr. Liao to anyone, especially someone with small children who may have had a bad experience with another dentist. We will definitely be visiting Dr. Liao and his staff in the future.

Dr. Felix Liao has helped my son in so many ways. Through a hand shake, Dr. Liao suggested that my son's cold hands could be an indication of low iodine and low thyroid. Dr. Liao's suggestions were later confirmed through testing. Issues my son has been dealing with for many years have vanished due to Dr. Liao's incredible knowledge. I would never have dreamed that taking my son to a dentist would have led to the greatest discovery of my son's life. Now, thanks to Dr. Liao, my son is getting what his body needs to thrive! Dr. Liao uses appliances to widen the jaw so that overcrowded teeth can have enough room, as in my son's case. Not only will my son have a wide enough jaw after we finish treatment, but also a perfect bite and a gorgeous smile! I am VERY pleased wit the progress we have made! Dr. Liao is dedicated to his work and his patients. He even made a special trip to the office on a Sunday to meet with my son and I so we could discuss and resolve a concern we both shared. Dr. Liao's staff is friendly, courteous, and so helpful. Dr. Liao and his staff work as a team and you feel more than welcome when entering the office and examining room. I am extremely grateful to be working with Dr. Liao and his staff!!!

Dr Felix Liao is the top of the crop in the US with respect to biological dentistry experts, using only biocompatible materials as we move into nontoxic dentistry. Further, he is renown for his knowledge of the mouth's health and how that correlates with the health of the body, via the Voll chart. State of the art, competitive, and has a wonderfully caring manner which allows patients to ask and get lucid honest answers.
I fly across the country to see this dentist--he is without qualification the best of the new biological dentists with whom we can trust our lives, since the dental cavity is so strategic to overall health. Dr Liao is A+.

I found Dr Liao because I was looking for a mercury free dentist. What I found was infinitely more! Dr Liao is a leader in the world of holistic/Biologic dentistry. He is knowledgable about health and nutrition. These are the reasons I took my family to Dr Liao in the first place. My experience in his office this week is the reason he will be my family's dentist into the future. I have a special needs 6 year old boy. He is very shy and has anxiety from having any attention focused on him. He had a tooth that needed repair, but I despaired of his voluntarily allowing the work to be done. Dr Liao and his staff worked with us in an understanding and sensitive way. When my son was finally willing to allow the work, they completed the work quickly and skillfully. He felt no pain or anxiety. The personal and professional level of care exceeded my expectations in all ways.

Today it is September 15, 2013. I'll be 72 years old in December. About a month ago, on August 14, 2013,Dr. Liao finished removing the decay that had been forming in my mouth for over a year plus two amalgams underneath crowns. Two days later, on August 16, 2013, I suddenly began feeling stronger, more energetic, and more optimistic than I have felt in over four years! I've been able to do many hours of yard work pulling weeds and shoveling mulch since then. Many people notice that I'm looking better and moving faster.

I had all my amalgams taken out three years ago, but I have suffered greatly from allergies, fatigue, and mineral imbalances until now. I still have one old crown in my mouth which probably has an amalgam underneath it. Perhaps, if I have that one removed, I'll have the strength and energy I had ten years ago.

I'm grateful to Dr. Liao for having so much patience with me as I squirmed and coughed in the dental chair because of my hyperactivity while work was being done on my mouth. Having this energy now means that I can maintain my independent life style without having to move in with relatives.
