I HAD THE SAME DENTIST 32 YEARS AND CHANGED INSURANCE AND PICKED THIS PLACE. DR WEINER IS A STAND UP COMIC AND I HEARD AT LEAST 15 ONE LINERS MY FIRST VISIT AND SO DID MY THREE KIDS.I THOUGHT SOME OF THE JOKES HE TOLD ME WERE INAPPROPRIATE AND WASNT IMPRESSED BUT WHEN TOLD MY ONE DAUGHTER A JOKE THAT WAS VERY INNAPPROPRIATE SHE WAS VERY DISTURBED AT A JOKE OF A SEXUAL NATURE HE FELT THE NEED TO TELL HER. IT REFERRED TO THE SIZE OF A MANS PENIS!!
IT WAS RUSH RUSH RUSH FROM THE MINUTE WE ENTERED THERE...WE WERE ALL SEPERATED AND I DIDNT KNOW WHAT WAS BEING DONE TO ANY OF MY KIDS. 4 CLIENTS RUSHED IN AND OUR IN 30 MINUTES. I LITERRALLY LEFT FEELING LIKE I WAS IN A WHIRLWIND AND WONDERING DID THAT REALLY JUST HAPPEN?? I felt like I was in a tv show. My kids then told me they felt the same
MY KIDS HAVE HAD A TOTAL OF 2 CAVITIES NEEDED IN 18 YEARS WE HAVE BEEN SEEING THE DENTIST FAITHFULLY EERY 6 MONTHS ...AND DR WEINER AND HIS STAFF SAID DAUGHTER 1 NEEDED 3 CAVITIES, DAUGHTER 2 NEEDED 2 CAVITIES AND THE FINAL DAUGHTER HAD ONE. MYSELF I NEEDED THREE CAVITIES AND TWO CROWNS HE CLAIMED.
I FEEL LIKE THE WORK WAS OVER DIAGNOSED BECAUSE THEY (FROM WHAT I HEAR from asking around today) DO THIS ALL THE TIME, POSSIBLY RIPPING OFF THE STATE INSURANCE CO I HAVE BY DOING UNECESSARY WORK!
I HAD AN EMERGENCY AFTER A CROWN WAS PUT ON THIS WEEK, THE ON CALL DR NEVER RETURNED MY CALL. THE CALL WAS RETURNED THE NEXT DAY.
AFTER A SECOND CROWN WAS INSTALLED IT CRACKED IN HALF HE NEXT DAY. PROBABLY BECAUSE HE HAD TO FILE IT DOWN SO MUCH BECAUSE IT WAS TO BIG AND I COULDNT BITE DOWN. AND AS HE WAS DOING MY DENTAL WORK THAT DAY HE SAID TO HIS NURSE "OH THERE IS ALL ACRYLIC STUCK IN HERE, THATS NOT GOOD AT ALL?" NOT EVEN EXPLAINING THAT TO ME, NOW IM WONDERING IF THAT WAS WHY IT CRACKED? AND I HAD TO GO BACK AGAIN THE NEXT DAY FOR THE EMERGENCY I CALLED IN ON AND THE PROBLEM WAS MY BITE AGAIN ON THE FILLING TOOTH THEY DID...HAD TO FILE IT DOWN. I KEPT TELLING HIM WHEN I WAS THERE IT DIDNT FEEL RIGHT ON THE INTITIAL VISIT BUT WAS SENT HOME ANYWAY AND THEN HAD THE PAIN IN THE TOOTH WHEN I TRIED TO BITE DOWN.
WHEN MY DAUGHTER EXPLAINED HER BITE FELT OFF THEY FILED IT AND TOLD HER "THATS THE BEST ITS GONNA GET" when she said again it didn't feel right.
NONE of us felt our teeth were cleaned properly either. We used to leave our old dentist feeling clean and fresh.
Hadn't been to the dentist in about a decade, and finally got dental coverage under the affordable care act and AFD accepted my insurance. While I assumed it wouldn't be anything fancy, My teeth weren't in good shape(a lot of tooth breakage due to cavities), and needed to get my teeth worked on BAD. So I figured it was better than nothing.
While I can't give an opinion of Dr. Weiner(though it was annoying that he would pop into my exam room and start striking up conversations with the dentist attending to me while she was in my mouth, which just seems unprofessional, and a little hazardous), I can speak highly of Dr. Ro, who was my dentist, she was warm, kind, and did good work.
I needed 8 deep fillings and 2 crowns(still need to go back for the other one), and after giving my teeth a good cleaning, performed the other procedures satisfactorily and made adjustments to my pain relief during the procedures accordingly.
Not to mention they were willing to be flexible with my schedule with college and work.
While some of the attending assistants tended to bicker with the dentist about unrelated topics occasional in the middle of my procedures, I'll take honest personality over no personality at all.
Bottom line is I'll probably be going back to them in the future.
I know it was due to my insurance, but waiting to have a cavity filled because they needed my name on a roster is ridiculous. Especially since I was a patient before, but now have another type of insurance. I actually needed to get my insurance to fax in my name to even get an appointment. Not only that, I was overcharged for the filling! I'm lying there in the chair and being told this is how much it will cost no questions asked. So I waited for the claim to process knowing that I am responsible for 20% and the price given seemed high. When I finally saw what I should have paid that day, it was three times LESS then I was forced to pay. I called to ask why, and they said that was their understanding of my insurance between a silver filling and a composite. I told them my insurance says that the cost of the filling was a negotiated cost of 249.00. My share for the filling was 59.40. I was told to pay 180.00 which I did knowing that was high, but I needed my tooth fixed. The dentist office asked me to fax all the emails I received from my insurance to prove what I am saying. I did so hoping to hear back from them. I still haven't heard if I'm entitled to a refund of 120.00 or that they even got the fax. Customer service is horrible when dealing with them and your insurance.
This was absolutely the worst dental appointment of my life. It was was literally like a scene from a dental horror movie. The hygienist Mike had no idea what he was doing. He basically scraped at my teeth so hard for about ten minutes I was nearly in tears. I did stop him and tell him how much pain I was in and he didn't seem to care. He them quickly ran the electric brush over my teeth for a few minutes. At no time was I even able to rinse my mouth. (There wasn't even a sink next to the chair.) He knocked out two of my fillings and the dentist had to refill them. Though they claimed they couldn't be sure if he had knocked them out or they were already missing. I check my teeth very carefully and would have noticed if they had been missing. The whole appt. including x-rays, cleaning, dental exam and refilling the fillings he knocked out, lasted about 45 minutes. The longest 45 minutes of my life. Please beware and DO NOT go to this office!!
