I had an appointment set 6 months after the first visit, so they called and reminded me, since I could not take a day off for that appointment, I asked them to cancel and rescheduled, Then sent me few text notification and call notification two days prior to the appointment and confirm if I am coming; so I took half a day off from work and went to the scheduled appointment, when I arrived at their place they told me my insurance is expired and they cancel my appointment, but if I am willing to pay out of my pocket, they can take me (I have my insurance thru work and I still have the insurance, not sure what they checked and why they didn't say when they called). They don't care about the customers, otherwise they will concern about my time, I wasted my whole day driving all the way from Windsor Canada to their location and they can easily say, they cancel my appointment without even inform me. Very poor management and customer service, I would not recommend to anybody.

They've never used foul language. They always make an extra effort to be polite and courteous. They really make an extra effort to make their patients feel special.

I have medicaid so they refused to clean my teeth but wanted to make me pay $700 for a debridement. I of course couldn't afford it, but they charged Medicaid for it without ever performing any service, she didn't even floss my teeth. I had cavities that they refused to fill, but wanted me to pay $2000 for a root canal and crown, which I of course couldn't afford. Then they called me to make my 6 month cleaning appointment, I explained why would I come sit and wait an hour to be seen then not get my work done? She said she would schedule me with a different hygienist and my appointment was made for 2 months later. Day before my appointment they called to cancel me. I told them to not ever call me again and reported the charged to my insurance.

I arrived to my appt. at the most, ten minutes late. (I came directly from dropping my son off at school) Both my husband and i had an appt. However, his appt. was after mine, so technically he wasnt late to his, actually he would be considered 2 hrs earlier. But since they wanted to lump us in together, they said that we could each only get a cleaning done and not the fillings that we were supposed to get too. It took me at least 20 minutes explaining to her that i understand why I wouldnt be able to get both done, but as far as my husband- he is not late, he is early, so why would he not be able to get what he was scheduled for. FINALLY, she understood english and what i was saying and when she realized this, she flipped it around and said that I didnt understand what i was talking about. She made NO sense at all. Anyways,we still had to wait 2.5 hrs to be seen. (so why then, was it an issue that i was ten mins late??) Then, at least five other people left because they could not wait any longer, not to mention i overheard about four phone calls of people cancelling as well. When the receptionist made an appt. i told her that my husband and i needed to be seen and would like the same day/and time back to back appts. This was very hard for her to understand and she became angry with me. She would put my name in the computer and write it on a card for me BEFORE asking if that date would work for me. And then did the same for my husband on a different day. I was not available that day and she ripped up the card with an attitude. Shouldnt you ask if im available instead of just saying, heres the date..?...Then when i was finally taken back for my fillings, they numbed my tooth and left for 30 minutes, all the while, i had to listen to the patient next to me trying to explain his insurance policy to these idiots. Then when they finally came back, they started working on me-and i felt EVERYTHING. I told them this and that i was in a lot of pain and she said that it was hurting me because i dont brush my teeth good enough at home! I said no-its because the numbing wore off when they left for half an hour. She didnt numb it any more and i starting crying-im a grown woman and i was crying (i cant imagin a child going thru that) and she told me to stop crying- that crying isnt going to help me or make it any less painful and then she complained to the assistant that its too difficult to work on my when im crying. But i had calmed down at that point and it was just tears rolling down my face. I was holding it in. After the appt., the moment i stepped out their door-i became hysterical. I was crying and screaming from the pain. I was TORTURED and TRAUMITIZED. I was hyperventalating and my husband has no other choice than to take me to a hospital E.R. Now fast forward a couple months, I still had more fillings need to be done, but no way was i going back there. So i went to U of M-school of dentistry. And i could not be any happier with them! they are so nice. VERY thourogh- the main dentist double checks EVERYTHING. Even though U of M is a two hour drive away (and in rush hour), it is definatly worth the drive. For sure. Anyways, I had more filling done at U of M, and the two fillings that Oakland Family did, well they didnt do the correct job, because U of M had to remove them and replace the ones that they messed up on. The fillings didnt even 'fill' the whole cavity- according to u of m's x-rays. So oakland's work was pointless and caused more damage than anything! And one more thing-I needed a root canal, but my insurance wont cover that, so Oakland said they would do a root canal for $1,000 or my insurance would cover an extraction. So i had to get my tooth pulled. Well, come to find out, U of M would've done a root canal for $200-250. I wish i knew that before Oakland screwed me again. Bottom line- DO NOT go to this place of "business". You will regret it. There are hundreds of reviews online about this place and 99.999999% of them are bad experiences. I wish that i wouldve seen these reviews before i became another victim of theirs. And the 0.00000001% of the reviews that are positve, they are probably written by the workers themselves, trying to save face and make themselves look like patients online, but do not be fooled. Their building my look nice and they may be located in a "nice name" city (west bloomfield), but you should not make your decision to go there based off the city they're in or the fanciness of a building. This is your teeth, your health, your life, and I hope that the only good thing that could come out of mine (and many other's experiences) is that we save other people from going there and having to go thru what we have gone thru.

I was completely at ease during my appointment here. They went to great lengths to make sure I was completely relaxed and comfortable the entire time. I know that I can trust their motives, and they're not just looking to make money off me. I never have to worry about them pressuring me to get dental procedures I don't need. It was nice to hear how much the staff respected them. It made me that much more confident that I was under the care of a professional.
