DO NOT GO HERE!! I have been to many psychiatrists over the years, and I didn't even know psychiatrists this bad could be board-certified. I have been on a medication for 15 years and 3 other psychiatrists. The medication is a stimulant and going off this medication abruptly (as I told her from days when I haven't taken it) makes me unable to even stay awake during the day. Nevertheless, she decides after seeing me that she won't prescribe me the medication because she "thinks it isn't helping me." Despite my pleas that I didn't have enough to get through Thanksgiving weekend (it didn't even cross my mind that this would happen) and would almost certainly not get an appointment tomorrow, and to at least give me enough to taper and wean myself off the medication instead of losing functionality.so tha switch to whatever she recommended. She refused. I left her office to call my wife to discuss what we could do (we have a 9 month old and its not fair for me to be out and unable to help), at which point she sends her receptionist out saying I'm "disturbing the clients" and threatening to call the police if I didn't vacate the premises.

DO NOT GO TO HER. Better to pay hundreds per visit to a different doctor.

I have been a patient of Dr. Patel since 2004 thru the present. I don't have enough words to express how happy I am with her treatments. I have called Dr. Patel on her cell phone at 4:00am and she returned my calls, she also made arraingments to see me the same day of my episode.

I would recommend Dr, Patel to all those people that need a GREAT PSYCHIATRIST.....

And for those that give NEGATIVE posts they probably don't follow her medical and medication instructions.

Good luck to everyone....

Are negative stars possible? I've been seeing Patel for over a year for "Medication Management" At my last appointment we discussed starting a stronger med but would see how the in between time went. After a very stressful month, I was looking forward to my upcoming appointment to get on board with the strong meds. Instead, she "fired" me. I always allowed her to choose the time and day for our appointments, and was only late one time when trying to locate her new office. She has been late for every single one of my appointments. Today, she had 3 clients all waiting in for an 8:30am appointment and then cam strolling in herself at 8:35. She had me follow her, asked me how I was doing While Walking Through the Hallway (I told her not well), and then chastised me about how she is sure my other doctors’ offices do not run on time and that she does not start until 8:30. What I don’t understand is why she had THREE clients all waiting for the same time slot?
She had me sit down and then told me she felt it was best I find another provider. She did not discuss what medication I was taking, how it was affecting me, what I should do with said medication until I found someone else or if I had enough medication until I found someone else. She literally sent someone out with no umbrella or guidance from her office. I originally came to her because I was overwhelmed and stressed. Apparently, she is only in the job for the insurance money and did not care if I was actually stable or not.

Very disappointed in my time and money spent. Was referred to her by my PCP around August of 2011, so I started seeing her. She did not test my heart or anything else(like she told me she was going to-she forgot) before she prescribed me stimulants, then when that didn't work right she put me on a medicine that didn't do anything for me at all. When my grandmother died January 31, I stopped going until 3 months after(my grandmother and I were very close so it was a hard time for me and I couldn't afford to pay copay and medicine that didn't work). When I went to see her a few months after my grandmother died, I paid my copay, then she took me back and told me we would try another prescription, then before she wrote a prescription she decided that she couldn't see me anymore. I left her office in tears because of all the time and money I have spent trying to get help for my "ADHD", which is making it hard for me in college. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY ON THIS WOMAN! SHE may give up on you if she doesn't feel like "dealing" with you- after she takes all your money!.

If I were to compare them to other psychiatrists I've seen, I would definitely say they were one of the best. They've never used foul language, which has bothered me at some of the other places I've been too. They always make an extra effort to be polite and courteous. I was glad that they were located in a safe neighborhood. I've been to some other places where I was scared to get out of my car but not here. Just as a side note, I was very impressed with how conveniently located this business was and how close it was to other shopping centers. It was so easy to find, I didn't have any trouble at all. They gave me sufficient information to make a decision about my treatment plan.

She did not listen to me and was snappy when I asked questions. I would never recommend her to anyone. I am already in a fragile state of mind to seek care from a psychiatrist and Dr. Patel did not improve the situation with her attitude or demeanor. Every time I'd ask a question, it seemed like she annoyed and didn't want to give me an answer. I understand they're busy, but they should really treat their clients better or find another profession!

Dr. Patel has almost always been on time for my appointments, now and then she does run a little late, I guess that's normal though. It wasn’t difficult to get an appointment with her at all. It was nice to be able to get in right away and not have to wait a long time because my schedule changes so often it is difficult to know far in advance when I have time to come in. Dr. Patel definitely knows what she's doing and cares about how I am feeling.
