Dr. Brand is friendly, personal, thorough, and most efficient - she moves extremely fast. Her limited days and hours occasionally make it difficult to make an appointment. Cindy in the office is always a pleasure to deal with. I am usually seen within 10 minutes of my appointment time. I had no problems at all finding the office or parking. Overall, I am satisfied with my entire experience at Village Square Dentistry, and I will continue to return.

The WORST place possible!!! The office staff is completely rude to me and my family. The dentist is HORRIBLE she told my husband that he needed all this work done and after my insurance it was still out of pocket over $1,000 so we decided to get a second opinion and my gut feeling was right DR Braun was WRONG and the whole procedure after my insurance was like 100.00 and she was trying to charge me over a $1,000. The staff is always rude and inconsiderate to be and my WHOLE family even my children. I would definatley think twice before going there!

Village Square Dentistry sucks. Here's why:

-This place is hard to find, as is the vast majority of ProCare's offices. They're in awkward places and there's no signage to say this is where they are. If there is sinage, it's small and hard to locate. You may have to end up calling them to help you get to your appointment. (This is pretty pathetic for a dental group that considers itself corporate dentistry.)
-Limited English is spoken here. Their office manager, Agnes, is Polish and is rather difficult to communicate with.
-Dr. Opioloa, a Polish dentist, is rude and insulting. I'm sure he's a good dentist, but his personality leaves a lot to be desired.
-While Dr. Brand, a Jewish dentist, is, on the whole, nicer than Dr. Opioloa, there's times she can be rude and insulting.
-Their regular office staff, i.e. part-time receptionists, while friendly much of the time are treated like complete crap - ESPECIALLY by the dentists.
-Their regular office staff is overworked, overextended and their office is grossly understaffed. You can see how exhausted they are, especially at the end of a day and on their longest days (Mondays and Fridays). (I assume the decision to have 2 part-time receptionists and overwork them is due to the fact they're cheap and simply don't want to pay to have more part-timers or make their current part-time receptionists full-time.)
-Their office staff is underpaid at $12 an hour for all the work they make them do. They should be making $13 or $14 an hour in terms of starting pay and to keep up with what other healthcare receptionists are making, as the average hourly pay nowadays is more $15 or $16 an hour.
-The wait times are often atrocious - ESPECIALLY on Mondays and Fridays (best to avoid those days altogether). Be prepared for, in many cases, a lot of waiting. Waiting to be seen. Waiting to be taken care of at the front desk. Waiting to get referrals. Waiting to be checked out and depart.
-Trying to get problems resolved quickly and to patient satisfaction is rather difficult if not altogether impossible.
-If your account has a credit, then trying to get that money in the form of a paper check takes a month to a month and a half. That's too long a wait and you can get your money quicker elsewhere in most cases.
-They loose and misplace dental records way too much for my liking. (It's not uncommon for them to tell patients they can't find their record and telling a patient this is grossly unprofessional on their part. You should NEVER tell a patient you don't have or can't locate their record.) And if you haven't been to one of their offices in awhile, they tend to make you start a new record because, even though the records are in stoarge, they're too lazy to go into storage to acquire it and have your old record available on the date of your appointment. This is especially true if you go to an office where there is no on-site record storage.
-If you're HMO, they make things more difficult for you - ESPECIALLY where scheduling is concerned.

You should also be aware that some locations, like this one, are letting their hygienist go at the end of March so trying to get appointments for exams and cleanings will be much more harder and you may have to go out farther in terms of booking appointments. Things will be getting more chaotic soon and just adding more stress to current office staff.

I'm a current employee (office staff) and just wanted to address some of the more negative reviews.

Patients aren't ignored. However, like MOST medical and dental offices, we tend to get really busy at times. The business can sometimes feel to a patient feeling rather ignored, but I assure you that's NOT the case. No medical or dental office's intention is to purposely ignore patients.

At Villiage Square Dentistry, we prioritzie as best we can. I've been told by the regional trainer that patients are our main focus whenever they're on the phone or standing in front of us at the reception desk. We drop everything, take care of the patient, and make them feel like the center of the universe. That's what they train their new hires in terms of patient service.

While I can't speak to staff before me, I can tell you that Cindy (the other office staff member whos' worked there for the past 2 or 3 years) is a very nice person. (She's interacted well with patients on the days we've worked together.) As for myself, I'll always be cheery and greet patients with a smile. I'll try to answer any questions you have to your utter satisfacton and if I can't, I'll defer to someone else who can. Granted, we, like most medical nad dental office staff, may not have all the answers, but we try to ensure that patients are satisfied with the response.

As for the patient who wen through 3 different dentists, medical and dental offices tend to have a high turn over rate ‒ especially where office staff is concerned. Most office staff works part-time so there is a desire to look for another job that pays more, pays more and works you more hours or is full-time. Doctors and dentists who work for group practices may eventually leave for other sites within the group practice or they may feel a need to branch out on their own and open their own practice. However, that doesn't mean a patient is free to follow that priovider. If you like the doctor or dentistst, follow him or her to other site within the group or to his or her own practice and continue seeing that provider.

As for not having a practice manager, it's not uncommon for a practice to be without one when one is being sought. In cases where there is no practice manager, patients need to bare with the office staff who are always trying the best they can.

While there may not have been a practice manager at the time the patient wrote his or her review, we have one now. Our current practice manager has worked there for 8 months now and has a prior background in dentistry.

As for charging for missed appointments, most, if not all, medical and dental practices charge for missed appointments. While office staff will usually remind patients of their appointments, it's up to the patient to keep track of of them and ultimately show up. When you schedule an appointment, the office and the doctors or dentists expect you to show. It's our time and theirs. If you don't show, this is time we could be spending with another patient. Hence the charge for the missed appointment.

_______

NOTE: While I may be an employee, I'm NOT being compensated for this review. The opinions expressed are my own.
