I took my son in to have his decayed molar extracted. I had several consultations and was dreading the thought of paying for an implant and crown. So when Dr. Gass recommended that we transplant his wisdom tooth to use instead of an implant, I was blown away. That was eight months ago and I did not want to write a review until I knew it would work. It looks like the original tooth. No other surgeon that I consulted with recommended this. Best decision I ever made was seeing Dr. Gass.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, Dr. Gass. I had my two bottom wisdom teeth extracted a few weeks ago, and the experience was far different than I imagined it would be. First, I couldn't believe how quick the surgery was. The best part, however, was that I had NO PAIN!!! I kept waiting for the pain to set in...it never came.

I prepared everything ahead, expecting I would be unable to do anything for two days. This was not the case. I did take it easy and nap some, but the medication didn't knock me out. I am usually very sensitive to medication, but it didn't bother me. I didn’t even take much of the hydrocodone he prescribed - I didn't need much. I don't know how he did it, but I had NO SWELLING either.

My dear husband took the day off work to take care of me. He has had many, many teeth extracted and his experiences have been terrible nightmares. I really think he was amazed to see how well I did. He said, "Where was Dr Gass when I needed him?"

Thank you also for calling that first night to check up on me and writing a follow up letter. Doctors don't seem to do those things any more. I would highly recommend Dr Gass for oral surgery.

After experiencing discomfort with one of my teeth I was informed that I needed to have a tooth pulled. As with most people I had a number of questions about my procedure and what my future options would be after it was finished. I had expected such questions to be addressed by Dr. Donald Gass. However, Dr. Gass spent little to no time interacting with me. In the little time that was spent with me he was extremely rude and short. He presented me with a consent form and stated that “this should be really quick.” After Dr. Gass stepped out I was then asked by the receptionist if I had any additional questions. I stated that Dr. Gass did not answer any of my questions and I wanted to know what my options were. I stated that I wanted to know what would happen after the producer was finished. I had done some research prior to coming to my appointment and saw that if I wanted a tooth implanted in the future the dentist would need to fill the empty socket with bone material. But I was unsure as I am not a dentist. She stated that she would let Dr. Gass know. She later returned and told me that Dr. Gass “just really needed to get the tooth out.” After asking her again about my options she had the audacity to state that I could just call the office later and my questions would be addressed then. I now regret not leaving after there was little effort to answer my very legitimate concerns.

In addition to the above, during the procedure he was extremely aggressive while extracting the tooth. I am aware that force is needed but it seemed over the top, and generally Dr. Gass had poor bedside manner (not telling me what he was doing and so forth). Also, I have had a tooth pulled prior to my visit with Dr. Gass, by a different dentist, and it was a far more pleasant experience. I have since gone to another oral surgeon who stated that Dr. Gass should have filled the empty socket with born material for a future implant immediately after the tooth was pulled. Again Dr. Gass did not inform me of any of this prior, or during one subsequent visit (I had to go back as I had dry socket). As a result of all of the above, my current oral surgeon has to do work to fix Dr. Gass’s mistakes. After relaying my experience to several people I was told that Dr. Gass is known for having a poor reputation, and those that informed me of this currently work in the field. I would highly suggest that people avoid going to his office.
