I struggled with depression and anxiety for years before I was referred to Dr. Goldman.

On my first visit, he spent three hours with me getting a detailed history. He listened, but also gently guided and clarified. He gave me a diagnosis that day that fit, finally! We worked together to find a cocktail of meds that would work for me.

He deals in medication management for psychiatric conditions. He is not a psychologist (counsellor/therapist) and that is made clear in the patient agreement and on a placard in the waiting room. However, he personally knows many excellent therapists in the area. He already knew my therapist, the best I'd ever seen.

I've now enjoyed the best mental health of my life. He is reasonable and cautious, but also up on current data and willing to partner with you to find what works. Keep in mind with psychiatric care thatsuccess depends on how much effort, transparency, and honesty you put forth. Also understand that every brain is different, and it may take time to find the cocktail that works for you. It took several months to find mine, but Dr. Goldman has continued to dedicate his efforts to keeping me mentally healthy, with good quality of life.

I also suffer with fibromyalgia, and he has been sensitive to that fact, as well.

He's the best. I would give him my highest recommendation.

Hand down the very best psychiatrist in the area. Spends quality time with his patients to understand their needs. Very easy to schedule appointments and get in quickly. I give Dr. Goldman my highest recommendation.

We attempted to get Ketamine treatment which they advertise as a very successful treatment. My fiancée is definitely 'at risk' and has made one attempt on her life, has been treated with antidepressants for 30 years, etc. Goldman refused the treatment, saying that he wanted her to go through psychiatric sessions and go through more drug use before he would give her this quick, safe treatment. Shame on you, Dr. Goldman. This past week of dealing with your office was a real disappointment. I would not recommend this doctor to anyone regardless of what treatment you need because he has proved that he doesn't care.

We took our son to Dr Goldman (hard to call him a Dr). Several other reviews here sound identical to my experience so there is a pattern. My son is a college student away at school. He came home for spring break and had an appointment on a Tuesday - the day of they cancelled it and rescheduled for Thursday. On Thursday they called and cancelled and told my son he had to find another Dr - no reason just don't come back. I went to the office and confronted the office staff - they were very rude and told me the Dr was not in. Within minutes he appeared and was rude and completely heartless. DO NOT GO TO THIS MAN. I am in the process of reporting him to the licensing board.

I have been seeing Dr. Goldman for about 15 years now. I have always felt that I am in good hands. I had been to psychiatrist before and never got the sound advice and treatment that I receive with Dr. Goldman. He tells it like it is and I appreciate that, seeing I do need professional help and guidance managing the very reason I go to a psychiatrist to begin with. It takes patience and time to work through the process. I have great confidence in Dr. Goldman and staff. Love them.

This is a warning to anyone thinking about taking your child to Dr. Goldman. First, he is not a counselor and he doesn't do testing. He just manages medications, so don't expect more than that. My child was not reaching his potential in school. Dr. Goldman diagnosed him in 5-10 minutes with depression, which surprised me, and prescribed medication. It did not achieve any results. Then changed the medication to one that made him very ill and he started failing classes at school (teachers called to say they were concerned.) So when I questioned the Dr. about his diagnosis, he just said the condition had gotten worse, that is why we had the negative results (not the medication itself), and my son just needed to try another medication. At that point I just said no more pills. So if you take your kid, just be prepared to go through lots of pills without really knowing if they will make things better or worse. My child felt like a lab rat and got angry - which then just confirmed the doctor's diagnosis that he was "getting worse." Just be very careful - I feel so sorry that I put my child through this ordeal.

Dr. Goldman was nice the first visit but every visit after the first he no longer seemed interested to discuss any changes or problems.
After waiting over an hour for one appointment he told his receptionist, he would not even come out and talk face to face, for us to get an evaluation at another location, which he did not explain where this location was or why his evaluation was not good enough. My child was on medication and I called to have the prescription refilled and he would not call back.
My child was going to be without the medication he prescribed before the end of the weekend and I called again to ask about the prescription and the receptionist told me to just take him off the medicine.
A few days later we received a letter from Mr. Goldman saying he would no longer accept my child as a patient.
We paid a lot of money for the evaluation and every office visit. I feel Dr. Goldman and the staff are not ethical and are very unprofessional.

I was glad that they were located in a safe neighborhood. I was very disappointed that I waited over an hour for an appointment twice. When I called to get a prescription refilled they never returned my call. Eventually (5 days later) after 7 unanswered phone calls, my pharmacy called and said it was refilled. They don't treat their clients equally, it seems they make time for their favorite clients, as I waited for my scheduled appointment, they let others go in ahead of me. There was never an apology for keeping me waiting. They don't accept insurance, they want you to pay cash and bill insurance yourself. This was expensive, $300 for an initial evaluation which took him about 20 minutes.. He must of been upset that I called so much for my refill because he sent me a letter telling me he doesn't want to treat me or my daughter any more. I explained on one of the phone messages my daughter was in the hospital for depression, when we needed him the most he blew us off. Incredible disappointment, definitely not ethical. I'm sure we'll be better off elsewhere.
