In choosing to become a physician, I had always thought about neurosurgery. However, life seems to take us down alternate pathways and I first pursued science and engineering research. It took some time for me to find my way back to medicine and I am glad to be here! When I meet with my patients, it is important to hear what a parent or caregiver has to say or what they see at home. They become a part of my team and are the closest to my patients. I let them know that we are in this together. We can make a plan together and take it in multiple steps to see what works best for them. There are many kinds of treatments, not just medications, that can help them. It's not "one size fits all."
