Raised in a traditional, cultured, educated family in Beijing City of China, Dr. Helen Hu began the study of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) earlier when she was a middle school student. She went on to study western medicine in Hebei Medical School in order to integrate the two medicines and advance her medical health procedures. She practiced western medicine for 9 years in China while becoming Chairman of the Department of Cardiology. After immigrating to the United States in 1991, she passed the USMLE (United States Medical License Exams) in 1997. Subsequently she formally studied Chinese Traditional Medicine graduating with a degree in oriental medicine and successfully passing both the National and State of California Boards as licensed acupuncturist and Herbalogist. And Earn her Oriental Medical Degree ( O.M.D) at South Baylou University Dr. Hu also serves as the President of the California Acupuncture Medical Association of San Diego Chapter. Dr. Hu and her associates practice Oriental Medicine in Point Loma at 1267 Rosecrans. She uses her expertise in both Eastern and Western medicine combine with her passion, wisdom understanding, philosophy and life style guiding to address a wide realm of disorder conditions at deep level. She invites the community to join her Saturday mornings at nearby Shelter Island for Chinese wellness exercises in Tai ji quan and Qi Gong
