I was shocked when they dismissed my billing concerns as as a mere "oversight". They admitted in writing their failure to explain their billing procedures clearly and billed me $1400 for 2 weeks worth of services I was told on 2 separate occasions by 2 separate employees were NOT being billed to my insurance. When I disputed it, they used a bunch of accounting smoke and mirrors to try to convince me they had "refunded" me for services billed as a result of their mistake but really all they did was allocate charges originally billed for later visits to earlier visits that had already been billed and paid. Worst of all, this was for a child who wasn't even in our custody at the time due to a runaway situation and they allowed a 14-year-old to "consent" to billing my insurance regardless of the fact that they were not one of my insurance company's preferred providers under an obscure IL law that allows children to claim sexual abuse and consent to their own treatment. This was accepted by them despite the fact that no allegations were ever made against anyone in our home and the allegations were later recanted by the minor. The mother even admitted to us later that the FHN counselor just "put that on paper" so she could treat the child without obtaining our consent. BEWARE OF THIS PROVIDER!!!!
