I really wish I could give Dr Hsu more than 5 stars. I was involved in a car accident last year, and developed both chronic neck pain and acute shoulder pain as a result. I had been trying to live through the neck pain for a few months, but it was an acute episode of shoulder pain that quickly prompted me to seek professional help. In short, I couldn't go on like that any longer; it was absolutely debilitating and I often found myself in tears (from both frustration and pain, and of course, the sense of helplessness).

I've had mixed results with chiropractors before, so this time, I did my research beforehand. A web search of the best whiplash/spinal injury care providers in the Seattle area yielded Dr Hsu's name. His location in Bellevue (he has another office in Renton) was very convenient for me, as I live in Issaquah. I called to make an appointment and was accommodated the very next day, by his extremely friendly and professional receptionist, Lauren. She no longer works there, but Dr Hsu's current reception staff are just as professional, warm, friendly, and organized. They have handled the billing (of my health insurance and the personal injury protection from my car insurance) seamlessly, which has been a great relief to me.

Dr Hsu's professionalism and -- above all -- his warmth as a care provider immediately struck me. He welcomed me into his clean, light-filled office and conducted an extremely thorough assessment of my injuries and pain level before he even proceeded with treatment. The assessment included a set of neck/torso x-rays (done on site, the same day, at his offices) to ensure that there were no contraindications to chiropractic treatment.

From the start, I felt I was in very good hands (and I am usually slow to trust health care providers). Dr Hsu expressed a level of interest and concern in my personal well being and medical progress that I have not experienced before. Also, I am a curious person and have asked him several questions about the mechanism of the adjustments, or the various modalities he employs in addition to chiropractic manipulations (such as cold laser therapy, passive traction, deep-tissue medical massage, etc). He answers every single question thoroughly and knowledgeably; his answers are not only imbued with the passion he clearly has for his profession, but are also personalized to my condition and to my level of curiosity about what is happening to me along this healing journey.

It's been two months of thrice-weekly appointments, and my treatment plan now incorporates a comprehensive daily regimen of physical therapy. Dr Hsu personally demonstrates the various stretches and isometric exercises that would be most beneficial to me, and also has me practice them briefly in-office from time to time, to track my progress and ensure that I'm maintaining good form and will obtain maximum benefit from the therapy.

I am feeling at least 75% better -- which is remarkable to me. My neck and shoulders are far more comfortable; I am more mobile and am better able to go about my daily tasks without pain or restriction. I sleep better, and my appetite (which had almost disappeared after the accident, causing a troublesome loss of weight) has returned, allowing me to nourish my body better as it heals and repairs itself.

I am so impressed with, and delighted by, the progress I have made as a result of Dr Hsu's kind and expert care, that I have a renewed sense of hope about the future. I know I'm getting better and stronger every day, and I no longer fear that I will be in pain for many more months or years.

Dr Hsu is a rare kind of healer, and I am very lucky and grateful to have come across this remarkable chiropractor.
