I don't think I have ever been put on hold here for a long time and am so impressed with how quickly all of my questions are answered. There's nothing worse than having to wait on hold for a half an hour just to get someone to talk to you. I could tell that they took pride in their office's appearance. It was very well organized and well taken care of. They were easy to reach in an emergency. When I called they answered right away and I was so relieved to hear a friendly voice. I'm always amazed at how considerate and concerned they are for my well-being. Their advice is always wonderful and completely unbiased. It was unbelievable how gentle this vet was with my pet and it really helped my pet feel at ease. It's very apparent that they truly care about us and our pets and that this is not a job for them, but their passion and purpose.

I want to express my gratitude to Dr. Kelman and his staff. Being new to Acton, I didn't have a Veterinarian. Our Airedale was just starting to show signs of Cushings. My Vet in FL suggested he get tested for it when we arrived in MA. as he had tumors, panting, excessive thirst and losing muscle mass in his hind legs. My son grew up with him, they were like brothers. It's been just the three of us for 10 years, he's family, and it's importamt that our Airedale get excellent care.. Our neighbor suggested his Vet in Acton, but unfortunately, it was bad experience. Cushings mimics old age, he had good days playing like a puppy, and bad. When he had the "good" days, we had hope. It was a hard decision as he didn't "tell us" After months of stress we were losing hope on what to do, and where to take him. A friend told me about Great Road Veterinary Hospital, and after one phone call, my mind was at ease. I spoke to Trish, as well as Erin, and everyone was so accomodating. We met Dr. Kelman and he explained everything to us in detail regarding Bodie's medical condition. He gave us options, told us about his the conition, cost for treatment, and helped us make our decision. He is very knowledgable as well as well as compassionate.. He spoke to my son like an adult and he made us feel so comfortable knowing this is the hardest thing anyone has to do. He set up the room, gave us time with out beloved Bodie, and we were all at ease. No one is "prepared" for this, but we knew we were doing the right thing. We only wished Bodie was his patient earlier. He went peacefully, Dr. Kelman explained everything as it happened. They set up blankets, and soon after the procedure, Bodie put his head in my lap and was at peace. They left us alone and said we could stay as long as we wanted to say good bye. We miss our Bodie so much, but we have comfort knowing he went peacefully, and as hard as it is to think about, we know in our hearts, we did it at the right time, with the right Dr., I hope no one has to go through the emotional suffering we did when we first arrived, and go straight to Great Road Vetrerinary, and always trust your instincts. We want to thank the whole staff for making us feel at ease, and for the compassion.
