Open Bite

An open bite occurs when the top teeth and bottom teeth are unable to make proper physical contact. The condition can be caused by genetics or excessive thumb sucking. Patients with this condition may experience difficulty chewing and a speech impediment as well as jaw and temporomandibular joint problems.
