My father-in-law was admitted to St. Camillus in early January 2015 and I cannot say enough good things about this place! From the receptionist to the nurses, the social worker and the therapists, they are all super friendly and helpful. The caseworker even offered to come in on her day off to help me with paperwork. The nurses and help on the floor were smiling and laughing and very helpful. When we walked through the hall, you could see that the staff were always busy at work, never sitting around chatting or anything like that. Also, the place does not smell like urine, which is quite a feat.. The place is a little dated, but definitely clean and especially the first floor has a warm atmosphere.
My father-in-law is stubborn, and would constantly get out of his bed and into his chair on his own, and inevitably he would at times fall. We always got a call right away to let us know. Obviously, this is not a five star hotel, so there will be lots of times when the resident will end up having to wait for the staff to come and help them with this and that. I often had to remind my father-in-law of how lucky he was to be in a place where he was served three meals a day, cleaned and cared for, his laundry done etc.and not to complain if the nurse didn't come immediately when he called.
I would recommend that you keep a close eye on your loved one's condition and not assume that the home will notice every little change. Be their best advocate, listen to what they say and see if you can change the things they are unhappy about so that the stay is easier for them. My impression is that the home is always willing to listen if it is within reason. I highly recommend this place.

I was hoping that they would be sympathetic to my situation and understand where I was coming from. Instead, they made it completely obvious that they didn't care about me or what I had been through. There was no annoying music playing while I waited or during my visit. I appreciated that they didn't have that typical elevator music on. It was so nice to arrive and see many fully qualified staff members. This place had a great staff though, and I'll definitely be going back. Every time I've called and left a message, I've never heard back. It's extremely annoying.
