This facility is a poor nursing home at best. I read the reviews and I don't believe them. The residents complain about the staff and management. When I set with my mom in the court yard during the summer I was told my some of the residents that the management staff is rude to them. The furnishing is poor at best. Mice were running around in the courtyard. Check out the furniture in the court yard. I've had to complain on numerous occasions about the care my mom receives. My mom is in advance stages of Alzheimer’s and requires 24/7 attention. She was sexually assaulted in June, 2012. I filed a police report and the MN Department of Health is conducting an investigation. I am in the process of filing another complaint with the Office of Health Facility Complaints about the care received by my mom. My mom is unable to feed herself so she is fed by the staff. On several occasions when visiting my mom in the evening I have noticed dried food around her mouth and on her clothing. I have mentioned this to management a number of times. The majority of nurse aides are temporary staff. My mom's health care plan requires that her hands and arms are lotion daily. I had to constantly complain about this before it is now done as prescribed. I visited my mom yesterday and had her socks removed so I could view the condition of her feet. I was appalled at what I saw. Her feet were in terrible shape and had not been lotion at all. Her feet were scaly and the toe nails were in horrible condition. The nursing home was keeping my mom in the bed most of the time until I started dropping by in the morning and afternoon. I complained to the owner, who is also the Director of the home, on numerous occasions. In August of this year my mom had bedsores because of them keeping her in bed most of the day. The nurse aides were storing my mom's dirty clothes in drawers and on the shelve in her closet even after I had complained about this to the head nurse and the Director. The nurse aides are constantly changing so there is no one assigned to my mom on a regular basis. When I discovered these conditions I informed management over and over but the same things seem to occur. I am in the process of moving my mom out of this facility. I would advise anyone considering this facility for themselves or a family member to check out the MN Department of Health Nursing Home Report Card.
