One of the first things I noticed about this business was how many different areas of the building were handicap-accessible. I have been to other places where I couldn't tell how someone in a wheelchair could even enter, but they really spent a lot of time to accommodate people with all different needs. When I left my appointment I was so pleased with my experience that I knew right then I would recommend them to everyone I know. The office was easy enough to find. I spend a little too much time in the waiting room. I've waited longer at other offices, but I was hoping to be seen sooner. They never have that typical, annoying music playing here. If they do play music it is soothing and appropriate for the setting.

I have always been impressed with how Dr. Martin handled one of my patients. I am an optometrist in Fayetteville and I referred a patient to Dr. Martin about five years ago. This patient called my home late Friday evening and said she was having light flashes, floaters, and a dark area in her vision. This is a classic description of a retinal detachment and it can lead to blindness within a day or two without treatment. This patient was in Cary, so I paged Dr. Martin. He did not know me but he returned my page and agreed to see this patient the next day. Basically he was agreeing to see a patient I had not personally examined but assumed had a serious problem and he went in Saturday morning just to see this one patient. It was a detached retina and his surgery saved her vision. There are not many eye surgeons that would have been willing to do that. Very impressive. William Vaughan, OD
