I just moved to the area and decided to try Cain Dental. I found them on my insurance's website as a listed provider. I called and they were able to get me in quickly, so I decided to see what it was like.

I will defiantly NOT be returning.

The office waiting area was dingy and very small. The receptionist was not very friendly, barely looked at me when she was talking.

I arrived early for my appointment, but still was not taken back to the exam room until 30 minutes past my appointment time. I was a uncomfortable with how outdated everything looked in the back/exam area. It looked like nothing had been changed since the 80's. I wondered how up to date their equipment was as well.

Once in the exam room I had x-rays, which they had to redo several times because they could not get a "decent" image--made me wonder if it was because the equipment was super old.

I waited for the dentist in the exam room another good 40 minutes. I was not provided any reading material and there was no TV, so it was extremely boring to wait.

Once the doctor came in I was immediately uncomfortable. He did not introduce himself and just sat down and looked at my charts. He seem to be in a bad mood (but, I think he just may have a bad/unfriendly personality overall). The first thing he said was how I had bad dental insurance that didn't cover much. Thanks, I know. He had absolutely terrible bed side manner and made me even more nervous than I already was about having my teeth examined.

Once he began examining my teeth he was SO rough! I have NEVER had such a sore mouth after an exam. He just poked and jammed his little metal pick around as I was obviously uncomfortable. Thankfully I did not have any cavities because I can only imagine how badly it would have hurt with the way he was carelessly jabbing around. I am uncertain how through his exam was and I definitely did not want to ask him any questions, he seemed extremely rushed and like he did not have time for any patient questions or concerns.

After his exam the actual cleaning was done, which was frustrating because that could have been done while I was sitting there in the exam room for 40 minutes waiting to see the doctor...

I would never recommend this dental office. It was the worst I have ever been too. If you have medicaid and have no other options, I would search long and hard and maybe even go into Madison for a dentist that accepts medicaid. I have a choice of many dental offices with my insurance, so I will for sure not be going back. TERRIBLE. I had to wonder if this place was so dingy and the dentist was so terrible because they are one of the only places that takes medicaid in the area....pretty sad if you ask me.

I left this office in tears. I've never experienced a more unprofessional and downright rude Dentist in my life. Not only did he manhandle my mouth with super shaky hands and stick his metal poker straight into the area I just specified was extremely painful and sensitive, he refused to diagnose why I was experiencing the pain on that side of my mouth. He told me that what he "guessed he would do" for me on my Medicaid (which he made a point of mentioning more than once) would be a cleaning and fill the cracked filling on the other side of my mouth, "so go ahead and make an appointment on your way out the door." He hadn't even addressed the pain I was in...which was the entire reason I went there in the first place. When I asked him why my tooth was so sensitive and painful, he told me that he couldn't see anything on my x-ray...but that my root was probably dying and he doesn't do root canals...so go see someone else if I have a problem with it. I left in tears, without any proper diagnosis or relief. I felt like they didn't really care about helping me at all.
