Dr. Ma Kiho's work is very disappointing. My father had a set of dentures seated almost a year ago that have never fit. He went months without dentures, either the top or the bottom, waiting for them to be corrected, all the while losing weight because he could not eat properly. He finally received his full set and they still do not fit. His gums are raw and sore and the dentist refuses to make him another set unless he pays $200 for 'his fees', after he had already agreed to make him a new set for free. They agreed to give my father some of his money back (minus these magical fees) and took his dentures...so now he has no teeth and cannot see another dentist for 2 weeks. He is in his late 70s, his health is not great...and again he cannot eat properly because his teeth are gone.

The office staff is friendly and helpful, but Dr. Ju did an unsatisfactory job with my daughter's front crowns, They were too big (both for looks and for the fact that they were uncomfortable and her bottom teeth hit them); the color was very mismatched to her teeth, and there was black at the gumline. He and the assistant told my daughter that it is normal for crowns to be a different color from her other teeth and they told her not to smile so widely!

When I complained, his boss told me that Dr. Ju is a nice man - what on earth does a dentist's personality have to do with the quality of his work? Then they said that it was because my insurance paid very little. They never discussed what type of work the insurance covered or didn't with me. And I don't see why that should mean someone must be fitted with crowns that are the wrong size - either her mouth was measured wrongly or the lab made crowns that didn't fit and Dr. Ju did not check before he put them in.

In all fairness, they did offer to redo the work, but they said themselves that they didn't know if the result would be any better. I felt I could not trust them to replace the crowns, since their standards of acceptable work do not seem to be very high. Now my kid has to go through the hassle and pain of having them replaced and I have to pay a lot to have that work corrected.
