This doctor is a joke. He will get hooked on your meds and hear rumors that your selling your meds from the same people that cases the place so when you walk out they asked to buy your meds and if you don't sell to them they call the doctor's office up and say your selling them so he calls you in to do a pill check and calls the cops on you for being a few pills short when you come in for a pill count and then takes your meds in front of the cop and then call your pharmacy and says your dealing drugs and then leaves you hanging to DRY. Now I know why his daughter has nothing to do with him

I wrote a review not long ago defending Dr. Burnett, and now I wonder if I was just trying to convince myself to keep seeing him after nearly 10 years. Since that time I have found a new provider. Dr. Burnett has always been quick to talk about himself, family issues, alimony, problems with previous partners and associates, etc. I took it with a grain of salt as part of his plain spoken demeanor. Recently he even went to far as to tell me he wasn't sure he could meet his monthly payroll obligations, and I finally started to get uncomfortable.

Recently he has seemed confused about why I was there, going over previously discussed lab results and so forth, as if he was "searching" for the reason I was there. I have had to "brief" him on my condition, meds I'm on and recent happenings before he seemed to be able to "get with it." I thought, "ok, he must be really busy lately."

On my last (final) visit he took a phone call and for about 10 minutes he discussed another patient's condition in great detail, with me sitting in front of his desk. When he finally finished, he began talking to me while his mind was clearly still on the other patient.

let me digress now. In my previous visit, he said my blood pressure was high (it was the same as always) and said something like "they want it lower now" as if to say there was a new standard. He asked me to record my blood pressure every morning for a week and come back to see him, so there I was on the previously mentioned "final" visit. The nurse took my BP (it was same as always) and Dr. Burnett commented on how good it was. When I asked why then had he asked me to record it daily and come back in a week, his blank stare showed that he was clueless. He then started "reaching" by saying well, it's always a good idea to monitor it. I was also there for another reason, and he should have known, but he seemed totally clueless. I told him I was concerned that he had no idea why he asked me to come in and that he was very distracted. He then broke into a tirade about how he had to take the call from someone who was "...in far worse condition than you are..." and accused me of "busting his balls." I stopped him and said I saw no alternative to getting up and leaving, so that's what I did.

Anyone considering seeing Dr. Burnett should reconsider. And, you should definitely read up on his reprimand from the medical board last year. It's a fascinating read. I can't believe I stayed with him as long as I did.
