Exercise is very important in maintaining/improving bone health. Those dealing with compromised bone health should be aware that some exercises can be unsafe for the osteoporotic spine. Research supports flexion exercise ( any exercise involving flexing the spine ex. sit ups) increases the risk of spinal fractures. Safe exercise involve opening / extending the spine ex. push ups
