About Chiropractic Chiropractic is a health care discipline that emphasizes the inherent recuperative power of the body to heal itself without the use of drugs or surgery. The practice of chiropractic focuses on the relationship between structure (primarily of the spine) and function (as coordinated by the nervous system) and how that relationship affects the preservation and restoration of health. In addition, doctors of chiropractic recognize the value and responsibility of working in cooperation with other health care practitioners when in the best interest of the patient.
Since 1984, Wade Chiropractic continues to foster a unique and distinct approach as a health care discipline for most all neuromusculoskeletal disorders. The Wade Chiropractic Group advocates a profession that generates, develops, and utilizes the highest level of evidence available in the provision of effective, prudent and cost conscious patient evaluation and care. Doctors of chiropractic use natural or non-invasive approaches including manual interventions (for example, spinal adjustments, a specific form of manipulation), physical therapy services, exercise programs, nutritional counseling, lifestyle modification, and other patient education. Doctors of chiropractic provide conservative management for patients with neuromusculoskeletal disorders, including but not limited to, back pain, neck pain, and headaches. Although chiropractic patients are typically under care for musculoskeletal conditions, patients often find a variety of other conditions respond to chiropractic care. Abnormal motion and position of the spinal bones that cause nerve interference is called a vertebral subluxation complex. Sometimes this condition is also called somatic dysfunction. Doctors of chiropractic encourage periodic spinal examinations and preventive or wellness care. Our professional goal is normal function of the neuromusculoskeletal system throughout life for the optimum expression of health. Just as patients choose the level of care they prefer from the family dentist, many people enjoy the benefits of regular chiropractic care. Chiropractic was founded in the United States in 1895 and is now established in over 70 countries. There are approximately 65,000 doctors of chiropractic in the United States, and 90,000 internationally.
The chiropractic education is controlled by the Council of Chiropractic Education under the US Department of Health. Alabama requires an undergraduate bachelor's degree and passing the post graduate admissions exam, successful completion of an approved chiropractic curriculum from one of the 18 Chiropractic colleges or Universities in the US, along with 4 parts of the National Board Exams prior to taking the exam from the Alabama Board of Chiropractic Examiners. The Chiropractic DC degree is obtained after completion of over 4000 hours of course work in Anatomy, Physiology, Bio Chemistry, Physics, Diagnosis, Roentenology, Nutrition, Pathology, and several chiropractic manipulation techniques, plus electives in Therapy and rehabilitation. Graduates are primary care providers who safely delivery hundreds of thousand manipulation annually as evidenced by the inexpensive Malpractice Insurance Premiums.
In addition to successful completion of licensure, Alabama law requires a minimum of 18 hours in continuing education annually. Dr Wade has gone far above the minimum in obtaining specialized training in Orthopedics, Roentenology, Spinal Trauma, Sports Injury Evaluation and Management, Ergonomics and Industrial Consulting. Being highly qualified to treat patients also includes the importance of recognizing when referral is necessary for the benefit of the patient. Dr Wade regularly refers for MRI, CT, Blood Work, Ortho- Neuro Consults, Pain Management and reports progress to the patient's primary care physician.
Wade Chiropractic gladly accepts referrals for mechanical spine pain from injury or repetitive strain/sprain, headaches, neck pain, carpal tunnel, osteoarthritis and other neuromusculoskeletal disorders. Dr. Wade also has specialized spinal decompression equipment and has developed treatment techniques which are useful in the treatment of spinal disc lesions including herniation.
Please let our office know if you accept referrals. http://www.256backpainhelp.com www.facbook.com/drwade
Dear Patients,
All too often it’s the practitioner who gets all the information about the patient, and the patient gets little information about the practitioner and his/her practice. I would like to change that.
