Dr. Mattingly continually cancels our appointments. I have to rearrange schedules to accommodate appointment times for my child only to have the appointment repeatedly cancelled. Then we have to wait approximately one month for the rescheduled appointment only to have that cancelled as well. Dealing with my child's depression has been traumatic for our family, but dealing with this office has been almost equally traumatic. The constant cancellations of appointments leads me to believe that this doctor has no problem dispensing medication while providing no follow up care.

I would tell you, look for another office.
I have used them for years because of my insurance. The doctor is nice but the staff is very very bad. Plus getting anything done on the phone next to impossible! They are very bad on voice mail, and even just answering the phone!

Get required appointments is months!

I saw Dr. mattingly for 10 years, Did not fix me a bit. I think he is full of himself and he thinks his time is more valuable than yours. My last visit I waited over 45 minutes and when I gave hime trouble about it, he fired me as a patient. Just shut me off my meds, cold turkey. Even though some of my meds need to be weened off. He didnt care.
What I know is that he needs to be humbled, because his poop does stink like the rest of ours. I would not recommend him if you want to get better. You will be put on meds for life even if they dont help.

My daughter has been a patient of Dr. Mattingly's since 2010, diagnosed with ADHD taking 40 mg of Vyvanse. In May of 2012, Dr. Mattingly added 10 mg. Lexapro based on a DX of depression. In November we started seeing another Psychiatrist based on a recommendation from her Therapist. Late November of 2012, my daughter presented with manic symptoms, including cutting and was hospitalized to take her off the Lexapro. The hospital started her on 5 mg. of Abilify for severe depression and suggested we follow up with our Psychiatrist to rule out Bipolar. After hospitalization, we went to new Psychiatrist again to follow up. She informed us she was moving her practice to Granite City, IL after the first of the year. We tried to contact her 1/7/13 after determining that my daughter had started cutting again but she hadn't checked into her new office yet. Given the immediate need, I contacted Dr. Mattingly again to get an appointment. At the appointment on 1/22/13, Dr. Mattingly reviewed the hospitalization discharge records I provided and tried to get my daughter to tell him why she was cutting again. After returning to the room, I was given a prescription for one refill on Vyvanse and 10 mg. dosage of Abilify (twice as much as prescribed by the other doctors). I was then told by Dr. Mattingly that he was not willing to see her ever again - that I needed to look for a doctor closer to me. I think it's highly unprofessional to double the Abilify dosage on a 12 year old girl who was just hospitalized knowing that he wasn't willing to monitor the side effects. I didn't come to the office looking for a prescription or increase in dosage, I came looking for a qualified Psychiatrist who was willing to take care of my daughter and ensure she is monitored and treated properly. There is no way I am going to increase the dosage of Abilify knowing that there isn't any professional supervision of her treatment due to being abandoned by Dr. Mattingly. I am going to look for a new Psychiatrist knowing that it will probably be 3-4 months wait to find a good, qualified Psychiatrist as a new patient. Prior to Dr. Mattingly, I called around looking for another Psychiatrist but I thought it was more important to seek immediate treatment. I think it was negligent of Dr. Mattingly to double Rebecca's dosage of Abilify without committing to the proper follow up treatment. I am in the process of filing a complaint with the Missouri State Board for the Healing Arts. I would recommend that you find another Psychiatrist.
