It has been a few years since my visit with Dr. Maxwell but I was diagnosed with a birth defect where one of my vertebrates was formed out of proper position and was causing an enormous amount of pain in normal daily activities. Dr. Maxwell gave me advice on what to do outside of taking meds that would have great side effects and now I'm not only virtually pain free but I can run more than a quarter mile at a time. I'm now even competing in 5K's and considering registering for a sprint triathlon this year! I'm completely med free and have reversed the pain using diet and exercises and I never thought it would be possible considering that there were days I couldn't even get out of bed without assistance from my wife. Many thanks to him and his staff because one of the hardest things about my condition was not being able to run, now I can do it all the time.

They never left me for an extended period of time and I never felt ignored. They have a very good professional reputation. I know that I'm under the care of an expert. Whenever I make an appointment, I'm always confident that they're going to be ready for me at my scheduled time. They're always ready for me when I arrive. I have enjoyed every visit.

This doctor is a great doctor, but for someone who is dealing with a chronic, painful disorder, the last thing they need is to deal with a difficult office staff. I only saw this doctor twice and had two resulting bills for his services. I had questions about the bills I received from them for the first visit. I placed 2 calls and did not receive a return call. Almost immediately upon my receiving the bill less the amount insurance paid for the first visit, they were already calling to collect. I gave them a payment date that was within 2 weeks of our conversation and receipt of the bill. The person I spoke with did not object; unfortunately I did not get a name. At my next appointment within the same 2 week time frame they insisted upon a payment in order for me to see the doctor. It was a small amount due, but I budget my money carefully, so it was more the principle that I had already talked to someone and they were reneging on the phone conversation I had with them not even a whole week prior to my appointment. Payments do not get posted expeditiously and the client may be charged a significant late fee resulting from a delay on their end to post payments received. The late fee I was charged was on charges for the second visit and it amounts to almost 300% of the amount that was due. My payment for the amount due cleared my account 3 days prior to the date they decided to assess the fee. My payment was made within 2.5 weeks of receiving a bill that reflected the amount due from the patient after insurance was applied. My bank, given my good credit standing, even contacted this office on my behalf and the staff continued to refuse to waive the fee. Once again, Dr. Maxwell is a good doctor, but I will not recommend him to anyone because of my experiences. If in need of this type of doctor again, I will find someone else.
