Dr. Roddenberry down-to-earth, a good listener, and I felt comfortable with her right away, almost like we'd known each other for a long time. She was patient in understanding my experience and didn't just "mmmhhhmm" me like therapists I've had in the past. She's engaged but in an appropriate way so she doesn't insert herself, but is active in the conversation and in giving tips of how to work through problems. I felt like her virtual office was a safe space. I called it my little cocoon. I felt safe saying anything I needed to just get out and she was very good at helping me be less judgmental towards myself. She taught me about how my childhood affected my choices and way of thinking and also how I can stop that cycle, which felt empowering.
