My twins first appointment was on March 15, 2019. This appointment was for a consultation. I thought she was a very easy going and caring doctor who really took the time to get to know us on a personal basis. Before we left, she set up an appointment for me to bring the twins back for their “testing”. The appointment was set up for April 26, 2019. She also sent home with us some paperwork for us to fill out before the April appointment.

When I brought the twins in for their appointment in April, Dr West was NOT in her office. The office was locked. I tried calling the number listed on the door and got a voicemail. I left a message. Never got a call back. Dr West ended up showing up at least 15 mins late without notifying me that she would be late.

The testing took about an hour for each twin. By the time we were done she set up an appointment for us to come back to get the results on May 31st. She knew we were on a deadline of getting these tests and the results back in a timely manner because we were working on getting conservatorship on the twins before their 18th birthday in July.

I got a call the morning of their May appointment letting me know that Dr West was going to have to cancel without any explanation what-so-ever. The secretary informed me that Dr West said to schedule me in the following week and according to the secretary she did not have any openings. So, we agreed that Dr West would email me the results and if I had any questions, I could call their office. I NEVER received their results in email.

That is when the roller coaster began. It has now been SIX months since their day of testing and I still have NOT received their test results.

I have called her office 8x (June 12th, June 21st, July 01st, July 16th, July 24th, August 28th, September 10th and October 15th) and I left a message every time I called with my name, phone number and who I was calling in regards to (twins names). I emailed Dr West personally on July 16th and August 5th. I never got a response from either one and the second email came back that the email address for her was no longer valid. I swung by her office 3x. Once in June (cannot remember the date), July 17th and October 2nd. I left her a note under her door when I stopped by on July 17th. Never got a response from that note either. None of the times I had stopped by her office was she ever in the office. The office was always locked and the lights were out.

The 2x times that her office has called me back (June 4th and July 19th) the secretary has tried to blame it on the insurance company both times. She tried to say they changed up the medical codes at the beginning of the year. That the insurance company only paid for so many of their “codes”. I explained to the secretary the importance of receiving these test results. She then explained that I could get Power of Attorney over the twins until I can get the conservatorship. She continued to tell me that she told Dr. West to finish up the paperwork on the twins and to get the results to me while she continue to work on the insurance issues. I tried to remind her that in her office she has it posted that the results can take UP TO 12 weeks. She tried to explain that her results are hand-written and very detailed for why they take so long.

My ex-husband got in the postal mail a statement of benefits from his insurance company months ago showing where they have paid Dr West for every visit. There was like a $30 balance on each twin in which Dr West’s office could file that with their secondary insurance. I included a copy of the statement of benefits with my letter when I stopped by her office on July 17th.

Only one time has Dr West ever called me personally and that was on Friday September 6, 2019 at 3:38 pm and the call was from a “private” number. I did not answer it because like most normal people I do not answer calls from a “private” number. She has never attempted to call me back again after I tried to return her phone call.

Dr. West is very kind. She listens to your concerns and then tells you what can help.
