Mr. Pickering was the kindest man I knew in the optical business. He would tell me of better lenses when they came around, and became a personal friend.

Martin Pickering's shopped is closed and now emptied out as of November 1, 2018.. I am checking to see if a PO BOX 17191, WICHITA, KS 67217-0191 is still open to send a certified letter. Six weeks ago, I ordered a new pair of eyeglasses and paid $200 down. After two weeks, he told me he had been sick, but the order should be in next week. A new telephone number was'unavailable' when I called next. Found shop closed, and someone else had scribbled a note blown off @ picking up an order. I left a large note on the front door asking to pickup even the unassembled eyeglasses and still pay a $60 balance due. I WONDER HOW MANY CUSTOMERS ARE OUT MONEY? Time to contact the Sedgwick County DA's Consumer Fraud Division? He seemed like a nice guy who worked with you to keep the cost down.
