Upon entering the Pacific Vision Care Center, I felt the two receptionists were kind but a bit inept. They certainty weren't dressed professionally, one was wearing ripped jeans, but this is Seattle. It's not that they did anything bad, it's just that neither one instilled a great deal of confidence or professionalism in me. In the waiting room with people around, Dr. Chien also talked openly with another patient about her diabetes, which I felt was inappropriate, if not an outright HIPPA violation, so two strikes against him before the exam started.

The exam itself was fine, good, if not slow. Which if you're a methodical doctor, slow is okay. I do feel like I received a technically good and thorough exam; which would have been great, except, the receptionists kept interrupting, at least 2-3 times, the already slow exam to deal with complaints and problems from other patients. He gave someone a 10% discount for some reason. Three strikes against him but it was too late to leave.

The worst part and the real nail in the coffin with Dr. Chien is if you don't purchase glasses from him. Not only will he not let you purchase the pupil distance and the fitting services separately, he becomes extremely unpleasant, unreasonable and a bit irate, bordering on abuse; as another reviewer on Yahoo pointed out. Google it.

Obviously, this is how Dr. Chien makes his money. I won't tolerate this type of behavior, so I stopped him before he could launch further into a tirade but I can now see how if you're not someone who can set a clear boundary, he'd walk right over you. The bad far outweighs the good here and I won't be back.

Also, he's got really drab, outdated, bad and an inferior frame selection.
