I recently visited him for a school project and he was extremely helpful. He was so kind as to let me talk to him for a few minutes. I was very grateful that he took out some of his time to answer my questions. He answered all of my questions thoroughly and thoughtfully.

Dr.Downing was very cooperative and willing to help me with a school project. He was very helpful in answering my questions and giving me real examples. He went out of his way to accommodate me and made me feel respected . He is a well of information and experience.

I haven't actually met with Dr. Downing for a counseling session but visited with him over the phone. I am currently working toward my Masters in Mental Health Counseling and sought out Turning Point Counseling to help me with a project. My expectation was that an admin assistant or intern would return my call but Dr. Kevin Downing was the one to return my call. He is the co-founder of the practice and yet he took the time to help me with a class project!

He was very down to earth, friendly and genuine. I leave this review because of how impressed I was with him. If you are looking for a counselor but are nervous, I believe Dr. Downing would be a great fit.

I would highly recommend Dr. Downing (Kevin) to anyone that feels they may need counseling/therapy. His style of therapy is not that of a typical therapist, who keeps you at arms length and tries to diagnose you (as if there is something wrong with you). Instead, he approaches his sessions from the aspect of friendship and real concern. Its like talking with an old friend, who really knows you and genuinely wants to help. And he can. Kevin has helped a lot people and if you give him a chance, I bet he can help you too.

I have known Dr. Downing for more than 20 years. He helped me through a major life crisis and more than a few smaller ones. His compassion for a person in pain is probably what drew me to him. Sometimes when you're hurting you simply want to feel like you have been heard. I always felt that I was heard.
Dr. Downing, or Kevin as he prefers to be called, uses all the modern psychological tools at his disposal and brings in biblical principles as well. He treats the whole person. Much can be learned from this approach, in my opinion. Secular psychology has its place but getting help that is based in a spiritual belief system helped me reach a peace that others didn't.
Compassionate, understanding, loving, and kind. What more could you ask of a therapist? How about experience? Kevin has been doing this for decades. I have watched him and his partner, Peter, continually try to help people and change lives.
Did I mention feeling safe? When you are baring your soul to someone you want to feel confident that your information will remain secure. Kevin gives you that confidence.
I could go on but I hope you get the picture. Dr. Downing is an excellent choice as a therapist. Thanks to him I can face life and can even look forward to an afterlife.

My husband and I highly recommend Dr. Kevin Downing to others. Since our very first visit until now, we leave his office better equipped to face the marital and family challenges that come our way. He has always been professional, honest, kind and fair. We are blessed when after all of that he prays with us too.

No, they've never taken personal calls with me

Michael Jordan had a personal coach...do you?

I first met Dr. Kevin Downing in 1998. Throughout the years I had the opportunity to see Kevin for advice about parenting / (step children). Kevin was right on, fully understood what children go through when parents divorce.

Kevin understands how important children really have to deal with the many issues they face through divorce or otherwise the children will carry those issues into their own marriage.

I saw how children are set free when they resolve their issues before they leave home and go off to college or into the real world.
The investment with Kevin was worth every dollar.

Kevin told me that he probably will not ever see the children as adults in his office from issues regarding the divorce of their parents...
That is what my passion was, that the children would be free and can have a healthy life, emotionally, mentally.

Kids are fine...what about me

Through trials, tribulations, pain, suffering, self inflected of course and staring at the thought of checking out of this most painful experience I have ever been in, I turned to Kevin for help....(Checking out as in good bye to life)

Kevin was there for me. Kevin not only helped me through this most difficult period in my life but Kevin is my life coach today.

I know what a difference Kevin made in my step children's life but also my own life.

I think everybody needs a coach, after all, professional athletes have coaches, why not us. Invest in your self and visit Kevin and find out how Kevin can help keep you on top of your life, take you to the next level and most of all be the person Jesus intended you to be.

Kevin is a blessing and so is Turning Point Counseling, Peter Robbins, and the Stewardship program offered by Peter.
