Dr Joe is the best advisor a couple can have. He listens and understands where each party is coming from, and offers counsel, understanding, and insight that you wouldn't have received from anywhere else. He understands that a couple is actually a pair of individuals, that have their own history, which affects everything that you experience together. He is respectful of where the participants in the therapy are coming from and their personal hurt, but he truly believes that people can grow, develop, & succeed. [Plus he has as really sweet dog in the office Daisy, who offers opportunities to diffuse tension and interact.]

Dr. Joe James is the best psychologist I have ever seen. His techniques work, despite my innate skepticism. Dr. James cuts through everything--all the noise, all the anger, all the panic--and helps to show a healthier way forward. I am no longer angry all the time, and my relationship with my spouse is healing, strengthening because of the work (and it is work) we have now put in based on Dr. James' keen perception and unwavering persistence at keeping me honest, combined with his unconditional compassion. The bottom line is because of Dr. James my life is better.
