Great psychologist. Dr. Saenz was very effective at putting my husband at ease within minutes. Husband hates psychologists! We were able to get through the process quickly (15 sessions). One thing though, if you aren't used to be challenged or pushed, or given "homework" between sessions, you'll have to get used to it. We paid out-of-pocket and it was well worth it- much better than my in-network therapists.

2 years after therapy, our relationship is still going strong, and it was n the operating room table in ICU before.

One of the best therapist I've seen. Very forthright, compassionate, insightful, sensitive and competent. On walking in, he made me feel comfortable and as if everything I had to say mattered. Dr. Saenz was not your typical "u-hum" therapist that just sits and listens and once in a while says something: he is engaged, active and asks penetrating questions, but not in a way that intrudes or interrupts therapy.

One thing that made a difference was his years of experience. I needed someone who was seasoned, mature, patient and very knowledgeable, and I found it almost immediately on just sitting across from him. Within minutes i found myself opening up in ways I had previously been afraid to do so.

One thing I liked was his office. The interior design was wonderful, the ambiance is warm calming and inviting. The furniture and office paintings, wall colors and overall design was unlike any office I've ever been in.

So far I've referred 3-4 people to him, and they've all said pretty much the same thing.

Exceptional psychologist. We've seen several mental health professionals to get an accurate diagnosis for our son. Dr. Saenz made us feel comfortable and within minutes he had our son much more engaged than we had seen in other offices. From here on out things went much more smoothly. Dr. Saenz was thorough and he took the time to answer our questions. He was very patient and gentle with our son. He was also able to explain in detail how to tell the difference between Aspergers Disorder and ADHD, and how learning disabilities can show up as ADHD and defiant behavior.

We left not only with a clearer diagnosis, but with many ideas on how to work with our son. He coached us on how to look into sensory diets, sensory integration issues, social interaction strategies (social stories, using comic strips to teach about emotions, etc.).

Overall, I can only recommend Dr. Saenz highly. he was simply the best.

We saw Dr. saenz for marriage and family therapy. Our marriage was on life support and we thought to make a last ditch effort to salvage it. In our sessions we learned not so much that our marriage was broken, but that we didn't know how to fix it. Fixing it meant learning how to repair the damage, setting boundaries between us, relearning about respect and the valuing of each other, and so much more. His approach is a combination of behavioral and emotionally focused therapy. There was a lot of homework from Gottman's book (7 Principles approach). In the end, we not only were able to stay martied, but we learned how to apply real life problem solving skills to prevent the issues from taking over our marraige as they had before.

Dr Saenz has never been late to any of my appointments. I've even showed up early sometimes and he has always been ready and prepared. He was extremely competent, but more importantly, he took the time to listen, asked meaningful questions and challenged me to make the changes I needed in order to heal. It didn't matter how many times I called with a question or concern ,he was always available and would call me within hours or that even if I contacted him. He was extremely committed to my needs and demonstrated this concern through his willingness to work around my schedule. It was very easy to get an appointment. He was very flexible schedule and get me in quickly every time. The appointment far exceeded any preconceived ideas I had about how it would go. It was great. I can't recommend Dr. Saenz enough and have recommended him to others already.
