Dr. Appel has been my family doctor for over 25 years. He is extremely caring, knowledgeable and very thorough when it comes to all of my health care. Its not difficult to get appointments and when it comes to test results, his office gets back to you usually within the same day so there is no stress in waiting and wondering. Its an excellent practice and I highly recommend it if you are looking for a new primary care physician.

Dr. Appel is a wonderful physician. He is always available to answer your questions, very competent and continues to stay current in his field. He also has a specialty in nephrology. He is compassionate to the elderly and a good listener to his patients. He is thorough in his assessment and is an excellent diagnostician. He is cautious and careful; not one to jump in on the latest treatment protocol- he fits the treatment to the individual. He always follows up your visit with a phone call with results of tests, or schedules a future visit in a timely manner. In addition, he does not over schedule his office visits. When you have an appointment, he keeps to the appointment time frame appropriately and in a professional manner. The office staff is always friendly and helpful. In an era where many offices treat the patient as a number and are overbooked, with Dr. Appel, you are always regarded as his primary focus. He is a very special primary care internist and anyone would be very fortunate to have him as their doctor. .

For thirty five years, Dr. Arthur Appel has been our primary care physician. When my husband and I visit his office we are welcomed in a most cordial and professional manner. We are assisted by his staff and seen promptly by the Dr. Making future appointments is not a problem because of flexible morning to evening scheduling. When in need of an specialist Dr. Appel has referred us to excellent care. We are extremely satisfied with his services and we highly recommend him.

I have been going to Dr. Appel for many years he really cares about his patients always ask how are you is everything alright and he listens does not rush thru your appointment and also explains about the medications the do's and don'ts , his staff is friendly, office is clean and appointments are on time .

When it came to choosing my primary care doctor, I started coming to Dr. Appel because he came highly recommended by my friends. He is a very caring physician and gives his patients the time and personalized attention that is so hard to find in medicine these days. He is very clear in his analysis and helps me understand how he arrives at the diagnosis and what treatment steps he recommends. Dr. Appel always makes sure I leave clearly knowing what I need to do in order to get better.

Whenever I have had an emergency, he finds a way to squeeze me into his schedule the very same day. I never have to wait in his waiting room long (so much better than other doctors that may have long waiting times).

His attention to detail and ability as a diagnostician far exceeds any other doctor I have gone to in the past. He has picked up numerous ailments at the very early stages so that they were able to get treated quickly and successfully.

His staff is also very courteous and professional, and they help to make you feel welcome at the office.

Dr. Arthur Appel has been my primary physician since 1982. He has seen me through many cardiac and cancer set backs. He is a wonderful diagnostician and has excellent contacts within the county. I am still very much here because of his care and the care of Dr. Timothy Chang..
Dr. Appel's office staff does a wonderful job at timing appointments. I've never had to wait more than few minutes to see the doctor. There is always ample parking Thank you Dr. Appel

As my personal physician for over ten years, Dr. Appel is board certified in internal medicine with a specialty in nephrology. I based my decision to use Dr. Appel as my primary care physician when he treated my mom. I found him skilled and caring as a geriatrician with mom but, importantly, he clearly excelled as a diagnostician. My choice to make him my personal physician was weighed carefully. In my professional life I visited numerous private practices, particularly internal medicine practices in NYC, Westchester and Rockland County, and thus had a basis of comparison.

On one level, the practice is well administered with a staff that knows what they are doing. No double or triple booking here, no excessive wait time. Since there is virtually no employee turnover, the staff knows the drill and they know the patients. He’s assisted by his nurse but Dr. Appel prefers taking blood pressures or drawing blood himself – a small thing perhaps, but reassuring. Dr. Appel’s style is to focus on and speak directly to the patient.

Only when appropriate, is a test ordered or a referral recommended. His record keeping is meticulous and appropriately detailed - no boiler plate here. Medications are prescribed when necessary, but not because they’re advertised on TV. He discusses and evaluates your medical concerns and arrives at his diagnosis. As he describes his recommended treatment, he will pause to provide whatever level of clarification you require. As your visit draws to a close, a summary of the visit is provided and, where needed, an emphasis on compliance and follow-up. And the session ends without Dr. Appel “dismissing” the patient, but rather with him asking if you have any additional questions. Novel perhaps, but a greatly appreciated approach!

I’ve always had great experiences going to Dr. Appel. His office staff is always courteous and knows me by name – and, best of all, I never have to sit long in the waiting room like I do at other doctors’ offices. He is able to tell me right away why I’m not feeling well, and he is able to draw my blood and give me shots without much pain (most people can’t find my veins and I end up walking away with giant black-and-blues, but not with Dr. Appel!) If you’re looking for a doctor in the tri-state area, can’t think of anyone better to go to.

Dr. Appel has been my physician for over 20 years. I have never had to wait for an appointment - in fact, the Dr. even manages to squeeze me in on very short notice. He handles all of my medication renewals promptly. Very pleased with the level of care and the staff have always been very kind and accommodating.
