Dr Wagner and the staff are wonderful with both of my dogs and
my cat. They do offer choices when something other than the
regular check up is being done but they don't push it or give you
a hard sell...the decision is all up to you.
I no longer live in Mt Top and did try a couple of different Vets near where I live but my pets are much more comfortable with Dr. Wagner so the trip to see her is worth it.

Get ready to pay for sub-par care. They are very interested in selling extra things, and charge more than any other vet for routine services. It's always frustrating trying to get them to answer my questions because they make me schedule an appointment for everything. Dr Wagner did a few incorrect things (and charged me for them)... I felt like I was overpaying, and even worse, like she may harm my cat. I should have researched better before going there.

I was not impressed with this vet. She seemed more interested in charging me a lot of money then looking into what was best for my animal. She runs tons of tests without a whole lot of rationale. She ordered incorrect tests for my cat. She has to call other vets to find out what she should be doing. I felt like I was paying for her education, and that my animal was not getting the best of care. She brags that she has the latest in equipment, but she probably should have spent more time and money learning how to treat the animals and diagnose problems. Not recommended and will not be going back.

I got the impression this vet did not know what she was doing. I feel like she should have worked under a more experienced veterinarian before opening her own practice. She also charges an excessive amount of money for basic procedures. She misdiagnosed a few things, and charged me when she ran the wrong tests. The office tried to get me to agree to pay for add-ons, such as cutting my cats nails. My last encounter with her was when she wanted to put my cat under anesthesia to clean and pull some of his teeth. My cat was not having any problems with his teeth. She stated that she would need to run tests and make sure that he could withstand being put under anesthesia. She ran $135 heart test, only to call me at work and tell me that it was normal. However, she stated she was still not be able to do his teeth, as after further research she determined he needed a different heart test. She wanted to refer me to another center to do an ultrasound. All of this did not sound right to me, especially for a cat that was having no problems. I told her I would come pick him up in a few hours after work. When I arrived, they charge me a daily boarding fee. I went to another veterinarian to have my cat looked at. The veterinarian stated he did not need any teeth pulled and did not require a cleaning. The only thing I am grateful for is that I did not allow her to do a procedure on my cat, as I feel she might have harmed him. Since this experience I've talked to many people who have their own horror stories about this practice.
